This guide will show you how you can beat Mage in Kena Bridge of Spirits, who can also be found in Forgotten Forest and is a main boss that you fight after your encounter with Sprout Captain.
The Mage is pretty annoying and troublesome, as it has a few effective attacks to thwart your advances, produce ads, and also heal itself for all the damage you have done to it. This guide will show you how you can counter all the things Mage throws at you, and how to end the fight relatively quickly.
How to Beat Mage in Kena Bridge of Spirits
The Mage relies on two main attacks where it first uses its staff to summon ads that fight alongside it, and when it fires a homing red projectile that follows you around until it hits you. What makes the fight annoying is the ads and the projectile are thrown one after the other, keeping you busy and away from the Mage.
If you get too close, the Mage will produce its own melee attacks with quick swings from its staff, and quickly dodge away multiple times forcing you to miss your shots. If you do get lucky and get a good amount of hits to deplete more than half the boss’ health, it will produce a spell that will knock you back, immediately followed by healing itself.
The Mage will mostly be focusing on keeping you away and busy with smaller enemies while it heals. The health spell regenerates the health back to 75% or more, completely nullifying your attacking move earlier.
To counter all these attacks and prevent the Mage from healing, you need to first focus on smaller enemies, shoot the orb before it reaches you, and never back down from attacking with melee hits. When the boss knocks you back after taking plenty of hits, immediately get back up and run at the boss to continue hitting more. This is because the Mage will immediately use magic to heal itself, and that is something you don’t want.
If done correctly, the lack of a healing opportunity will completely drain all of the Mage’s health and eventually defeating it in a few minutes.
