At the recent Realms Deep action game showcase, indie publisher Retrovibe has come up with a number of announcements that include Impaler release date, a new game reveal, and updates to Project Warlock.
Starting with the release date of Impaler, where this 90s-inspired arena shooter will release on December 6, 2022, on steam and will also be playable on the Steam Deck. The game will give you magical powers to summon spikes that slay monsters, raise barriers, and get you to higher ground. Its rogue-like elements, varied skills to unlock, and increasingly difficult hordes of enemies ensure that every short run through its 10 levels is fun and challenging.
The second announcement was the reveal of the BIOTA Swarm, a game featuring chunky 2D style and platforming elements to the highly popular Vampire Survivors-like titles. It’s all about quick fun and high replayability over various arenas full of alien enemies to shoot and hostages to rescue in this relentless roguelike.
In BIOTA Swarm, you will also be able to unlock and upgrade new heroes and dozens upon dozens of evolving weapons and skills as you play.
Lastly, we got details from the developers of Project Warlock II, giving us a look at the changes and update coming to the Early Access version of the game.
The changes include a major overhaul of the first single-player chapter – the original 6 levels are being revamped into 12. The video also gives a first look at the upcoming second chapter called Urd’s Redemption. Set in a Brutalist Wild West setting, it will feature a new playable character with their own weapons and magical abilities tailored to battle new types of demonic enemies.
Creator of Project Warlock has also signed up with legendary game designer John Romero, who will be releasing a PC Big Box version of the game. Pre-orders for the PC Big Box of Project Warlock are open in the Romero Shop with global shipping starting in Q4 2022.
