SEGA just held its Sonic Central Showcase 2022 and during the showcase, we got to see what SEGA has in plans for Sonic this year and beyond with an exclusive new look at the upcoming Netflix animation series and exclusive new merchandise as well. Here’s everything that was announced during today’s Sonic Central Showcase 2022.
Sonic Origins Collection Announced
SEGA started Sonic Central with the announcement of Sonic Origins, a collection of the original Sonic titles which is coming out on all major platforms later this month. This collection will include fully remastered versions of Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, and Sonic for SEGA CD.
The collection will also include bonus hard missions, additional music tracks, letterbox backgrounds, character animations, and an island camera. Sonic Origins will launch on June 23, 2021, on PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Epic Games Store and Steam.
Sonic Speed Simulator
Sonic Speed Simulator is coming to Roblox on June 11, 2022, featuring a brand-new mission set on the Chemical Plant.
Sonic Mobile
Exclusive characters are coming to Sonic Forces and Sonic Dash from the recently released Sonic the Hedgehog 2 movie this summer. Sir Parseval is coming to Sonic Dash and Sonic Dash+ for Apple Arcade.
Sonic Forces
In November, Super Shadow is joining the battle in Sonic Forces while this Halloween, Mephiles the Dark is making an appearance in Sonic Forces as well.
Sonic Prime Animated Series
The new Sonic Prime Animated Series is coming soon to Netflix and Sonic Central gave us a small sneak peek at the upcoming series.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Blue-Ray and Digital Announcement
Next up, Ben Swartz who voices Sonic in both Sonic movies made a guest appearance to announce the launch of Sonic the Hedgehog on digital and Blu-Ray. The digital release is available right now however the Blu-Ray version is launching on August 9, 2022.

30th Anniversary Sonic Symphony
A Sonic 30th Anniversary live and in-person concert is taking place during Brazil Game Show this October. The event will feature orchestra and rock band together on stage with new surprises in store. Tour dates will be announced at a later stage.
Sonic Collaborations
Fall Guys Ultimate Knockout – August 2022
With Fall Guys going free-to-play on June 21st, fans of Sonic will be able to nab Sonic the Hedgehog, Tails, and Knuckles-inspired costumes for Fall Guys starting August 2022.
Sonic Frontiers Prologue Sneak Peak
SEGA is bringing a new animated special before the launch of Sonic Frontiers featuring Knuckles and shared a small sneak peak during the Sonic Central showcase.
Sonic Frontiers Gameplay Reveal
