Janemba Joins Dragon Ball FighterZ as a New DLC Character

Dragon Ball FighterZ

It seems like the next DLC character to join Dragon Ball FighterZ is going to Janemba, as Microsoft’s Larry “Major Nelson” hinted Janemba in relation to Dragon Ball FighterZ as part of the Goku Day celebrations.

However, there has not been an official confirmation about the new DLC character, but the fact that Janemba was mentioned when the character is not in the game is quite odd.

During the latest episode of “This Week on Xbox” show, Major Nelson ran through the various updates and content coming to Xbox this week and the future. It was also Goku Day which saw the release of Kid Goku in the game. In the episode, Major Nelson mentioned,

To celebrate, today you can get GT Goku and Janemba skins for Dragon Ball FighterZ.

This was the first time Janemba was ever mentioned in the game. Many fans speculated this may have been an accidental leak, but apparently the official Xbox Twitter account responded to several followers on Twitter about the leak and confirmed that the character was indeed announced.

EventHubs reports that in one tweet, Xbox responded to a follower asking “So Janemba confirmed?” with a flat out “confirmed.” They also corrected another follower tweeting about the leak by saying “Apparently Xbox just announced Janemba for Dragon Ball FighterZ [fixed that for you].”

If you are unaware of the character, he goes all the way back to the 1995 movie Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn, where he has basically described as being pure evil. He has been involved in a couple of Dragon Ball stores and media throughout the years but was killed off in the film.

Bandai Namco has yet to confirm officially, even though Xbox may have confirmed it themselves. We expect the confirmation to come out in next month’s E3 event as it will be Bandai Namco’s part of the announcement.
