How to Activate Cairn Stones
In the first quests on Diablo 2 Resurrected, you will find yourself traveling in different areas, getting ready to rescue Deckard Cain. In one of these quests will be an objective that requires you to activate Cairn Stones. The process itself is pretty simple but requires you to complete a few steps before you can actually activate them.
To activate the Cairn Stones, you have to go through the Dark Woods and make your way to the Tree of Inifuss. From the Stony Field close to the Cairn Stones is an underground path that leads you straight to Dark Wood. Inside you will find a lot of enemies that you have to clear out in the first level and make your way to the gate which is the exit of the Dark Woods.
The Tree of Inifuss can only be found after you kill the Treehead Woodfist boss, which you first need to find and then beat. The location of the tree is random with each gameplay, which is why there is no set location where you will find it. However, once you find and beat the boss, you will get the pattern that the Cairn Stones need to be activated in.
Return back to the Cairn Stones and interact with the stones in the correct order as found from the Tree of Inifuss. This will open up the path that takes you to Cain, more enemies, and the eventual conclusion of the quest.
