Although the weapon is insanely powerful, the Hand Cannon is a weapon that you will only get once you get a good taste of the toughest gameplay Dead Space Remake has to give you. The weapon only gets unlocked once you have played the game on Impossible Difficulty. This is the hardest difficulty you can play the game on, which has the same damage settings as the hard difficulty, but autosaves are disabled, only one save slot is available, and you have only one life.
Considering how tough this is, the Hand Cannon is only going to be an amusing weapon to use, once you have already completed the game on its toughest setting, and beaten the toughest of enemies with the highest of risks.

When the game loads up, you can now purchase the Hand Cannon from the Shop Storage in the game for $1,000. The ridiculous-looking weapon makes an interesting ‘bang bang’ sound that is made from someone’s mouth but is powerful enough to one-shot one kill enemies.
