Dark Sheep

Daisy Games’ block-pushing horror game, Dark Sheep, is planned for a release on April 23, which is this week. If the release date remains unchanged, the game will be available on Friday where you can download it from Steam and play it on PC.

What little we know about the game comes from the game’s official description as provided by the developer and publisher Daisy Games.

Check out the trailer below:

Dark Sheep is a block-pushing puzzle game with horror elements, and a love letter to the Commodore 64 gaming. Make bloody sacrifices to the Dark Lord and witness his unholy return to our wretched world. Whatever it might be, you have to see the ritual through and face the consequences that fall on you and the brotherhood.

The story of the game revolves around a new member of an unholy cult, where your job is to kidnap sheep, keeping them safe until the day of the ritual comes where the Dark Lord makes his glorious return, or it might even take a more sinister turn.

The gameplay of Dark Sheep features a new twist on the classic Sokoban mechanics, where two sheep cannot take the same path, forcing you to find even more creative solutions. The retro soundtrack was created using a real but modified 1989 Nintendo Game Boy, while sound effects were made via SID chip emulation.

The game is planned to release this week where it will be playable on Windows, Linux, and MacOS PCs and laptops. Dark Sheep will be priced at $2.99, with a 10% launch discount.

Features:

  • 40 levels with increasing difficulty.
  • The soundtrack was created with genuine 1989 technology to bring that 8-bit, Commodore 64 inspired sound to life!
  • Keyboard only controls. Mouse is optional.
  • Optional CRT mode!
