We have detailed everything below for you.
Character Guide – Cyberpunk 2077
Our Cyberpunk 2077 Character Guide details everything that you need to know about your character V in Cyberpunk 2077.
Health and Armor
Similar to any other RPG that might have played previously, your character V comes with a life in the game. This is V’s vitality and once it goes to zero, V dies. Every time you level up in the game, you will get a boost to your maximum health making you more resistant to death. You can also increase your character’s health manually by Body Attribute and investing in certain perks and cyberware. During combat, you will have to rely on consumables to replenish your health.
Outside combat, your health will auto-regenerate automatically to 60% of the total health. Every time you consume food, you will gain the Nourishment status effect which will double your health regeneration while you are outside combat. Apart from your vitality, you can add an extra layer of protection to yourself as well which is your Armor. Armor will reduce the overall damage that you receive from attacks. You can equip and upgrade your gear to increase your armor or simply switch to better cyberware that aims at Armor.
Managing Stamina
Your character also comes with limited stamina and it is important that you keep this in perspective at all times. While your stamina is pretty low at the start of the game, you can increase it further by investing in Body Attribute as well as some cyberware and Perks that boost stamina. Nearly all activities in the game such as melee attacks, running, dodging, and jumping will consume your stamina.
By default, once the stamina-consuming activity is over, your stamina will start regenerating instantly so there is not a massive delay in this however you can only perform these actions a certain time in a row before your stamina is depleted so you have to be very careful. Always try to leave a little bit of stamina behind because consuming all of your stamina will cause Exhaustion and you will be tired until your stamina recharges to its full. You can consume some drinks that increase your stamina regeneration rate or simply grant a burst of stamina ready to use.
Leveling Up
Leveling up is pretty straight-forward in Cyberpunk 2077. Every time you complete a job or any other activity in the game, you will earn XP. Earn enough of this XP and you will soon increase your level. Every time you level up in the game, your health and stamina are increased and you also get a Perk Point that you can use in the game to unlock a new perk or upgrade a previously unlocked perk. Along with this, every time you level up three times, you will earn an Attribute Point which can be used to increase your core Attributes in the game. Skills can be further upgraded by performing actions that are related to that particular skill.
Understanding Attributes
In Cyberpunk 2077, your character has five core Attributes that define what sort of a character it is. These determine your strengths, weaknesses, and the overall range of your abilities. You will need Attribute Points to increase these attributes and make the core abilities of your character stronger. The five core attributes and their related stats are detailed below:
- Body – Health and Stamina
- Reflexes – Damage Per Second (DPS) and Critical Hit Chance
- Cool – Critical Hit Chance, Resistances, and Detection Time
- Technical Ability – Armor
- Intelligence – Cyberdeck RAM
You will find detailed skills and perks inside these attributes and the more you upgrade these core attributes, the more options you will have for upgrading and using different perks in each of them.
Skills and Perks
Skills determine how good you are at particular tasks. The more activities you perform relating to these skills, the more proficient you will become when it comes to these skills. These skills come with their respective perk trees that will help you get some bonuses and compliment your playstyle and even unlock new abilities for you to use. You can spend your earned Perk Points in these trees to unlock new or upgrade previously unlocked perks.
Street Cred
Night City is all about reputation and earning reputation will allow you to move around with big boys in town. It is critical that you build up your Street Cred in the game because higher street cred will allow you to access new vendors and items beyond the reach of small fries. You can complete plenty of tasks in the game to earn and build up your Street Cred.
