This guide will show you how to beat the toughest and ferocious boss, Corrupted Taro, in Kena Bridge of Spirits. Beating this boss can be very tricky because of its mix of attacks and its eagerness to continue adding more pressure.
However, with the right gear, abilities, and strategy, you can complete this fight within 4-5 minutes. This is done by attacking the boss’ weak points for stuns, and using the right weapon to deal at least 10-12% damage with each hit.

Before you head into this boss battle, make sure you prepare yourself with the right weapon and abilities to counter the boss’ large health bar and powerful attacks. The key here is to equip the Rot Hammer ability, which lets you deal a lot of damage with each hit regardless of being slow in charging. This is because you will only use the heavy attacks when the boss is stunned for a few seconds.
The second is the Focus ability which lets you slow down the time. The Corrupted Taro will look for any chance to pounce at you, whether you are close to it or keeping your distance, its eagerness to hit you is the prime example of its aggressiveness. The only way to counter this is to stun it by hitting the boss’ weak spots. This is where Focus comes into play which lets you slow down time and allows you to accurately hit the few weak spots that the Corrupted Taro has on its body.
Before mentioned the boss’ attacks, you first need to learn about its weak spots. Hitting weak spots will stun the boss for a few seconds, allowing you to get close and hit the boss with a charged or heavy attack with the Rot Hammer ability. The first weak point is the golden lantern chain hanging from the boss’ neck. Hit this lantern with your bow and this will stun the boss for a brief moment.
Another way you can stun the boss is by parrying the first of its slash attacks. This is a very dangerous attack as it usually follows up with two quick slashes and a heavy attack. Parrying the first slash will stun the boss, but is massively unforgiving if you miss it.
Moving on to the attacks of the boss, the Corrupted Taro will be holding a sword in its right hand that he will use for the quick slash attacks when you are close to it. This sword will be replaced by its claws later on in the boss battle. Another one of its attacks is where it will throw its hands in the air before slamming it on the ground to deal massive damage if you get caught in it.
If you keep some distance between the two of you, Corrupted Taro will leap across and towards you, forcing you to dodge away. This is where you are better off by being at a close to medium range from the boss, targeting the weak spots to stun it, and then following up with your own attacks. Dodging also allows you to sneak behind the boss during its slash attacks, opening up a window to attack the boss with a couple of quick hits.
