Any rumor about CD Projekt Red bringing Cyberpunk 2077 at The Game Awards this year has been brushed aside by CD Projekt Red. The announcement came by the community lead Marcin Momot in a tweet.
“We’re looking forward to seeing all the reveals and announcements during this year’s @thegameawards, however we’re not going to be showing anything there ourselves. We’ll share more details about @cyberpunkgame when we’re ready,” Momot wrote on Twitter.
The news will surely disappointment to fans who might have been expecting more content showing the next highly anticipated game by CDPR after their critically acclaimed The Witcher 3. Momot’s tweet suggests how the developers are taking their sweet time and following their own timeline of providing details and finally releasing the game.

The last time we got to see anything Cyberpunk 2077 related was back in August where a gameplay was streamed on Twitch. The video was 48 minutes long, showing a brief introduction to gameplay and the combat mechanics of the game. This suggest that more content will be shown in the future and we won’t have to wait that long.
There is not official release date for Cyberpunk 2077, nor a time frame as to when the game release can be speculated. Earlier there were reports of the game releasing early in 2019, but nothing has been confirmed by CD Projekt Red, and has nothing new to show at this point as well.
As for the Game Awards that are beginning on December 6, 2018, there are a few confirmations of other games with guest appearances and presentation being featured in the event. The Game Awards produced Geoff Keighley recently released a trailer that showed multiple games like the Last Of Us II, Splinter Cell series, Death Stranding and followed up with a tweet that the trailer was not mean to tease.
