New Changes
Before we begin with the tips and tricks, it is important to know which new changes have been implemented in this year’s Call of Duty. Although each game might look similar but backend many new changes have been placed in each title to make it unique and more challenging. Let us look at what new changes have been implemented in the new game.
Players will stay on the ground during the combat for the complete duration of the map which means that Double Jump and Wall Running have now been removed from the mode. Call of Duty calls it 100% Boots on the Ground. Apart from this, auto-heal is now a feature of the past and stims are the future.
All healing in the game will be done by using Stims which you can use by simply pressing a single key on your keyboard much like in the single player mode of Call of Duty: World War II. Fog of War has also been implemented for the mini map which means that players will not be able to see the complete map unless special tools or equipment is used to reveal the area.
Try All Specialists
Each Specialist in the game is unique and comes with unique abilities which will help you perform different special moves that no one else can in the game unless they are using the same Specialist. These Specialists range from being support to full on front line tanks. Players will be able to choose the specialist that best suits their play style.
It is recommended that you try out all Specialists and then go for the one that suits you the best. There are some simpler and easy to play specialists as well in the game such as Battery which are not that hard to play with. If you are a new player to the series, you should start with Battery but it all boils down to your playstyle.
Try out all the different specialists and choose the best one suiting to your playstyle. Just make sure that if you playing as a team and you have a support Specialist, being a good team player is key to success. You must help your allies in any way possible by giving them ammo or health boosts.
We have detailed all specialists here so you can decide which one to choose in the game.
Understand Each Map
Each map in Black Ops 4 multiplayer is unique and offers tons of different opportunities to you to exploit your enemies. Although each map is unique they will have two common aspects, a central choke point where all the action is taking place and close combat action. If you do not want to get right to the action, you can stick to the side areas where you will encounter random moving enemies otherwise the central choke points are the main action areas in each map.
It is vital that you should know about each map in detail and try to remember as much as possible. This will help you know the exact locations from where the enemy may come to attack you or you can lay down hiding in shadows waiting for enemies to run by you ripe for the kill. Each map will come with plenty of flanking areas, side alleys or good sniping locations. Explore each map to know about each one of them
The six maps included in the base game are Seaside, Contraband, Payload, Frequency, Gridlock and Hacienda. Hacienda is a map focused on long range weapons as you will find plenty of spaces for long-ranged combat. It features a central courtyard where most of the action will take place.
Gridlock is a tight and limited map where you will need to rely on close combat weaponry. Cover is also minimum in this map making this the ideal map to pick Ajax. Seaside is another tight map where you will fight enemies among some shops and narrow streets. Close to medium range weapons are recommended here too.
Payload features a large hanger where most of the action takes place. This hangar although big is size has limited entrances which can be covered easily with proper Specialists such as Torque. Contraband favors medium to long range combat as it gives you plenty of space to flex out with sniper rifles and assault rifles.
Frequency is a tight and small map where you can expect enemies on every corner. Mines and Nomad’s dog is very useful in these small spaces to located enemies and making sure that they do not survive.
Choose the Right Gear
Weapons are as important as your Specialist in the game. It is vital that pick the weapon that suits your gameplay style as well as works well for the map you are going to play at. Using sniper rifles on a small map feature tight corners and blind edges is going to do you no good. Always consider the map and the game mode before you choose your weapons.
There are different other things to consider apart from choosing weapons as well. You can also put many attachments on these weapons. These include aiming sights, different barrels, stabilizers and many others. Apart from attachments, you will be given a choice to choose your own custom scorestreaks, operator mods and wildcards which all give you certain bonuses while playing the round.

Pickup Weapons and Ammo On The Go
Now you do not have to wait to die to get a full clip or change your gun. Looting enemies has been added in Black Ops 4 Multiplayer so you can easily loot your killed enemies for ammo and a gun if you want to. This was a much needed feature which has now made its way in the game. So if you are running low on ammo or need a new weapon, check the bodies of your enemies.
For looting up ammo for your current weapon, you must have the Scavenger Perk. It will allow you to take ammo for your current weapon from killed players in the round. Other than that Crash can deploy an ammo pack on the battlefield which can be used by all teammates to replenish their ammo.
Each kill from the ammo picked from Crash’s ammo stock also gives bonus points so this is great thing to have around. Therefore, do not forget to pick up ammo and weapons on the go now that the feature has been implemented in the game.
Understand Game Modes
Each game mode in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is unique. You must know exactly what need to be done in order to excel in each mode. We have detailed each game mode below so that you can easily understand what each game mode is all about.
- Heist – Heist is a new game mode added to the game in Black Ops 4. In this game mode, respawns are disabled, no custom classes are allowed and only weapons allowed at the start are pistols. Players will fight in 5v5 team format where they must find and secure a bag of money before the opposition does. The bag leaks money so delivering it quickly is a requirement or the prize will go down the drain eventually. As the teams deliver cash, kill enemies and revive friendlies, they will earn cash which is used at the end of each round to purchase loadouts and guns for the next round.
- Control – It is another new game mode added in Black Ops 4. Each round will feature two static objectives which the defenders will need to defend and attackers will need to take over. Over the course of three rounds, both teams will try to win the round by controlling points on the map or eliminating 25 players of the opposing team.
- Capture Moshpit – This is the Hardpoint or Domination type mode of Black Ops 4 where both teams fight to control different objectives on the map. Each controlled objective gives points and this is increased if players actually stay inside these control lines. Team with the most wins after three rounds will win the game.
- Search and Destroy – Each team will try to win by eliminating the opposing team or destroying one of two objectives in the game. First team to win four rounds will win the game.
- Chaos Team Deathmatch – Team Deathmatch and Kill Confirmed modes with a twist. In this mode, players will face each other in teams of four or six players where only two of each Specialist types are allowed on each team.
Do Not Forget to Heal
Since this is a new feature in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, hence it is important that you do not forget to heal yourself in the battle. Auto-Heal has been removed from the game so your health will not go back up if you do not heal yourself. It is vital that you keep healing yourself otherwise you will die a quick death in your next encounter.
Pressing L1 or LB will quickly heal you to full health. The recharge on this ability is not slow either. It recharges decently fast so you can use it often in the game after every encounter. After shooting, healing is your next important element in the game in Black Ops 4.
Tips for Levelling Up Fast In Multiplayer
Killing enemies with your Specialist weapons and special abilities yield more points rather than killing them with normal weapons. Try to rack up as many kills with Specialists weapons and abilities to quickly level up and earn more XP.
You can also level up quickly by trying to earn as many medals as possible. As you earn medals for performing well in the game, you will earn a certain amount of XP for each medal you earn which is a great way of levelling up fast in the game.
Racking up some kill assists will also give you a decent amount of XP. So whenever, you see a teammate firing on an enemy, shoot them up to add a few bullets of your name in their bodies and rack up some kill assist bonus XP.
Certain game modes also give you more XP than other modes such as game modes where you need to capture and control certain objectives. This being said, Hardpoint and Domination come out on top when it comes to choosing highest XP awarding game modes.
