Kakao Games and Pearl Abyss have announced that Black Desert Online is getting a brand new class called Guardian next month. Pre-registrations for this brand new class will begin next week while players currently playing the game will find that both Musa and Maehwa classes have received their Succession skills as well. Guardian is a brand new combatant joining the roster of the game on January 22, 2020, while pre-registration starts on December 24, 2019.
According to the official press release, the new Guardian class is described as:
The Guardian is a female combatant from the mountains who follows the will of the ancient dragon Omua. This hardened warrior must wade through the turmoil of her fragmented memories and willingly made a pact with the Black Spirit in search of Ynix, the holy flame that could kill even the gods…
Players will take control of the Guardians battleaxe and shield and use heavy melee attacks to suppress their enemies. The Guardian can also land charge attackers on her enemies and can grab them by their neck to smash them with her shield or hack mercilessly at them with her axe. The Guardian is a calculated class who is the bastion of the battlefield and strikes with perfection. She comes with her own unique skills to control the ebb and flow of the battlefield.
Some of her skills are:
- Boulder Crush: The Guardian smashes down her battleaxe three times with powerful, rock splitting force dealing massive damage.
- Mountain Slam: The Guardian smashes the ground, causing tremors that deal damage to foes around her.
- Black Blood Circle: The Guardian draws the forces of the earth into her axe to create a circle around her, enemies can enter this circle at their own peril…
- Mutilation: The Guardian charges energy and sweep the foes in front of her of their feet with her battleaxe.
- Black Blood Slaughter: The Guardian releases the charged energy from [Mutilation] with a powerful blast that deals a high amount of damage.
Apart from the addition of the new Guardian class, developers also announced that both Musa and Maehwa class in the game received their Succession Skills following other classes in the game. Succession skills are unlocked after players reach level 56 and accept a quest from their Black Spirit companion.
