Battlefield 6 Beginner's Guide

Battlefield 6 has arrived, and it brings the franchise to the modern age with tons of brand-new mechanics mixed with the classic Battlefield gameplay. To dominate the game, you must be aware of the game’s basics, including some advanced tips and tricks. Our Battlefield 6 Beginner’s Guide details everything that you need to know if you are just starting to play the game.

Beginner’s Guide – Battlefield 6

Below you will find information on different aspects of the game, such as how you can gain XP and complete challenges, what sort of classes you can expect to see in the game, and how you can dominate your opposition.

Faster XP and Challenges:

There are many things in the game, but I think you should start by knowing about the XP and Challenges of the game.

You will get a 5% XP bonus while playing with your friends. So, if you want to get this XP, always play with a friend. You can also get these XP boosts through disarming objectives, reviving, and supplying teammates.

To increase your weapon level (account level and hardware), there are XP boosters available. These XP boosters will be available for a given time period of 15, 30, and 60 minutes. So, you need to keep that in mind while applying the XP booster. Save your weapon-specific boosters for those guns that you plan to use long-term.

Always keep an eye on the Challenges and Assignments Tab in-game for extra XP, skins, boosters, and even new gadgets. There are Daily and Weekly challenges. And for assignments, there are initiation assignments, in which you have simple objectives tied to modes and team play.

After level 20, you’ll now have class and weapon assignments. These assignments give you weapons like a redeploy beacon and C4. You can track up to 4 challenges to monitor progress in real time by pressing Escape during a match.

Game Modes:

There are different game modes in Battlefield 6. Whether you want all-out chaos or tight close-quarter battles, there’s something for everyone in the game.

Game Mode Type Features and Details
Conquest Long Range Main mode of the game. Two teams, each of which can have a maximum of 32 players. You start the game with 1000 points, which will decrease, and the first team to get to 0 points will be the loser. Respawning will also deplete your points by 1. Capture sectors and flags to win.
Escalation Long Rage It is a mini version of Conquest mode. There are 7 points that the team has to capture. The first team to get 3 points wins the game. To earn a point, the team has to hold the majority of the capture point until a meter fills up to 100%.
Breakthrough Long Rage Classic battlefield mode, in which you will be assigned one of the two modes: Attackers or Defenders. Attackers’ main job is to attack and complete their objectives, while the Defenders’ job is to hold them.
Rush Long Range Same attacker and defender roles. Attackers attack the Comm Station while defenders need to defend. In this mode, you will play both roles alternatively. And the team with the highest wins will be the winner.
Squad Deathmatch Close Combat (Infantry Only) Four squads. First to kill 50 will be the winner.

Team Deathmatch Close Combat (Infantry Only) Two teams of eight face off to achieve the target kill count of 100.
Domination Close Combat (Infantry Only) Two teams, which are made up of eight players each, start at zero points and must try to earn 200 to be declared the winner.

King of the Hill Close Combat (Infantry Only) Need to capture the points. There is a capture point that moves to another location after one minute. Smaller map with 2 teams of eight.

Classes and Weapons Loadout:

Assault, Engineer, Support, and Recon are the four classes in Battlefield 6. Every class has a signature weapon category, and just like you choose the class, you can also choose any weapon you want. If you choose the weapon that belongs to the same class’s signature weapon category, then you will get some additional perks.

You can customize your classes with a primary and secondary weapon, a grenade, a melee weapon, two gadgets, and a training path.  The training paths are new in this game, which acts as a mini progression that unlocks perks and active & passive abilities of the selected class.

Classes Signature Weapons Abilities
Assault Assault Rifles Squad rally with adrenaline, and faster capturing.
Engineer SMGs Enhanced repair tool (10 sec, 50% faster) and reduces explosive damage.
Support LMGs Area restocks for teammates like a defibrillator.
Recon Sniper Rifles UAVs sweep, spotting enemies around you. Better for bigger maps.

Switching the classes during mid-match keeps the progress of that match, but resets after it ends. Make sure to choose the class that suits you better according to the situation. If you think that a certain class is not according to the map, you can change the class mid-match.

Weapons, Stats & Attachments:

You can easily level up your weapons by playing and grinding through the game. You can easily customize your weapons in the game. To buy weapon attachments, it has a 100-point budget. You have to buy those attachments that balance your gameplay. We will tell you about those attachments that are essential, and you should have on your weapon.

  • Muzzle: Suppressors keep you off radar, Flash Hiders, and Compensators, which reduce your recoil.
  • Sights: Scopes. Different zooms & visibility options
  • Underbarrel: Different Grips for recoil/bloom control
  • Barrels: Bullet velocity or ADS speed
  • Ammo Types: Boost damage or headshot multiplier.
  • Anti-glare scope: Produces less glint/flashes while firing from the sniper.
  • Rangefinder for Sniper: Automatically adjusts zero distance (scope distances) when holding B.

You should always test your attachments in the Firing Range to see which works the best. Use burst or tap firing for long-range fights.

You can also see in your weapons that there are some stats attached to them, like Hipfire, which increases accuracy when not aiming, Precision that reduces the spread/bloom, Recoil, which makes it easier to control recoil, Mobility, Movement & ADS speed, and Muzzle Velocity, which makes Faster bullet travel (important for long-range).

Best Settings for Gameplay:

For better gameplay, you should set your FOV to around 100. For clear visibility and spotting enemies, you should put off weapon motion and film grain. Put camera shake to low.

If you are a mouse and keyboard user, you should put the steady scope setting on and bind Secondary Input to Right Click to automatically hold breath while sniping. This will help to aim better.

General Tips for Multiplayer:

This section of the guide lists some general tips and tricks that will help you play multiplayer and gain an edge over the competition.

Play Together:

Stay with your squad/team while playing the game. Never fight the enemy alone. Always coordinate with your squad through voice chat. Most people don’t want to communicate with their teammates because they don’t know them and feel intimidated. But you should have an aim of securing the objectives in your mind while playing the game, and you should coordinate with them.

Revive & Respawn:

When you are down, there are two ways to get back in the game: Revive & Respawn. Support class revives you fast using defibrillators. If you are down and away from your teammates and far from your objective, then Respawn is the best option, but you will lose a point. After respawning, you should always land near your squadmates.

If you are not from the Support class, then you can also revive your mate by dragging him and moving to cover. The revival is slow.

Mark the Enemy:

Always mark the enemy by pressing Q on the keyboard or L1/Left Bumper on the controller after spotting one, to let your teammates know their position. Don’t play selfishly.

Recommended Class:

While playing solo in the multiplayer mode, you should choose the Engineer class. Because they have SMGs, which are suitable for short-range fights that happen frequently, medium armor, and an RPG to take down vehicles.

You should never rush your enemy. Take your time to understand the situation and environment of the game. Practice or at least try all of the classes first before picking one and then stick with it to master it.

Sniper’s Heaven:

If you hate campers, then you should play in one of these three maps: Liberation Peak, New Sobek City, or Operation Firestorm. They are very suitable for those who love sniping the heads of their enemies from a distance.

Be Nimble on Your Feet:

Double-tap C to slide, which is great for diving into the corners. To run faster, hold out the knife and hold F to sprint; it moves you faster than the gun in your hand. When you jump/fall from a reasonable height, make sure to tap circle or “B” on the controller or “C” to soft land and reduce the damage.

Tactics for Attack:

When in an armored vehicle like a tank, make sure to face the enemy and have a gunner inside. Because the armored vehicle takes more damage from the back.

While firing RPGs to target tanks, never fire from the same spot, because the enemy driver has a slight idea of your location and might bombard you with the loads. Close-quarters modes (like Domination) are great for fast weapon XP farming, as these are infantry mode games.

Riding Vehicles:

While riding a helicopter or aerial vehicle, make sure to use cover because the enemies on the ground can easily attack you. Take a gunner with you. Use jet only if you want to attack their aerial vehicles. They are not the best for ground attacks. Flying aerial vehicles will just take time to learn, so keep practicing, and you’ll get a better grip of the controls over time.

Post-Launch Update Changes:

While playing Rush mode, the attackers arm the MCOMs, while defenders defend it. In the previous versions, when the bomb explodes, the players near it also die. But with the new update in place, this is not a problem. After the explosion, a small fire erupts that might reduce your health, which you can put out by rolling. So, beware of it. Also, while arming/disarming MCOM, if you attack a player, your progress will be lost, and have to start again to arm/disarm.
