Battle Axe Lands on PS5 as a Special Edition Tomorrow

Indie game publisher Numskull Games has announced that Battle Axe Special Edition is releasing on PS5 tomorrow. Battle Axe Special Edition will be released digitally worldwide, and a physical release is also in the line for Europe right at launch. In the United States and Canada, fans will need to wait until December if they want to nab a physical copy of Battle Axe Special Edition on the PS5. The Special Edition of Battle Axe comes with plenty of goodies not found in the standard edition of the game.

These include:

  • EXCLUSIVE PS5™ SPECIAL EDITION: Includes the Base Game, Soundtrack CD by Manami Matsumae, and an exclusive game sleeve displaying the games lead villain Etheldred.
  • UPDATES: Hot off the heels of the release of Final Vendetta. Bitmap Bureau have been able to revisit the game to deliver a number of quality of life improvements, including:
    • New Casual Difficulty Mode (with unlimited continues.)
    • New Strafing mechanic. Move whilst you use your ranged ability!
    • Improved CRT shader.
    • Other game re-balances.
    • These updates will also be coming to previous versions of the game in future patches.

Pre-orders for the physical copies are now live across the United States and Canada via Amazon, Best Buy, Gamestop, Target, Walmart, and additional gaming stores. If you are living in the United States or Canada, you can pre-order your physical copy right now however it won’t be shipped until next month. The physical copy of the game will set you back £39.99 / €49.99 / $44.95 for the PS5 Special Edition. If you live in Europe, you can expect your physical copies to arrive tomorrow right at launch. If you want to go digital, you can purchase and play the game tomorrow, November 18, 2022, worldwide.
