Developer and publisher Insane Dreamers has announced the launch of the new update for its turn-based zombie RTS called Age of Undead. Age of Undead was released on PC via Steam in July 2023, and since its release, the game has been receiving regular updates bringing optimization and balances to the game. The latest update to arrive in the game is version 1.4.0 and it brings further optimization, balance fixes, and more Tactical Supports to the game.
The biggest change that new version 1.4.0 brings to Age of Undead is that it fixes the three horde problems and allows you to use even more Tactical Supports in the game now. As detailed by the developer, the new changes featured in version 14.0 include:
- The deployment of the 3 types of horde generated problems if it happened in already densely occupied places, increasing the lag for a few moments and sometimes spawning a smaller number of units.
- I changed the horde spawn system, and everything was fixed.
- Fixed the bug that created the Dirt-Eater at different heights than correct, thus preventing the jet from coming out of the ground.
- Optimized the particle effect of the Dirt-Eater, thus less lag when multiple “puddles” are active
- Optimized the way Acid Rain damages enemies.
- The following Tactical Supports have been subjected to new balancing:
- Fast Horde
- Heavy Horde
- Super Heavy Horde
- Acid Rain
- Infected Puddle
- Corrosive Dirt Eater
Insane Dreamers is also teasing the next update for the game which will focus on the Tactical Supports of the Survivors. Age of Undead brings a unique combination of real-time strategy and first-person shooter to the zombie genre. In Age of Undead, you will try to survive a zombie apocalypse with three unique factions: the Army, the Infected, and the Survivors. You will be required to make strategic choices in the campaign, go into battle and also fight to survive. The game also offers day/night cycles that affect the behavior of each faction in the game along with a dynamic weather system that affects the combat scenarios.
If you are interested in playing Age of Undead, a free demo for the game is available on PC via Steam which gives you a small taste of the full game. If not, you can simply add the game to your wishlist and jump into it at a later stage. It is priced at $19.99.
