Our The Blood of Dawnwalker Endings Guide details how you can unlock all endings in the game by choosing the correct options. Some endings require siding with Brencis, others involve helping the rebellion or Lacra, while one can be triggered simply by allowing the 30-day limit to expire. This guide also covers the special secret ending that requires completing the same time loop sequence multiple times.
All Endings Guide — The Blood of Dawnwalker
You can unlock 7 different endings in The Blood of Dawnwalker depending on the choices that you make at key story points.
Folk Hero / A Lone Wolf’s Hunt Ending
The first ending comes from fighting Brencis alone. You can attempt this very early in the game when he first challenges you and leaves you tied to the tree, but the fight is extremely difficult at that point. A more practical way to reach this ending is to progress through the Court system, defeat three of Brencis’ generals, and reach Infamy 10. This unlocks A Deal with the Devil, which allows you to challenge Brencis alone.
The challenge will take place at the site that is selected by Brencis and will begin at night. When you reach the location, climb to the top of the tower where you will find a fire that can be lit to summon Brencis.
When he arrives, he will bring your father with him. You can either follow Brencis immediately or take some time to speak with your father. Speaking with him lets you explore additional dialogue and learn more about what has happened to your family.
Eventually, you can choose to end the conversation and fight Brencis. The fight will be very challenging and rough for you, as he can summon many elements or specters around him, which makes it difficult to deal with everything at the same time. Moreover, the battle has multiple phases, with the second phase revealing his monstrous form. After you defeat him, it will lead to the Folk Hero / A Lone Wolf’s Hunt ending.
After Brencis is defeated, you will realise that killing him alone comes at a high cost. Your father and the rest of your family are dead, and the ending continues with a later sequence showing their graves. You can then explore the village and see additional scenes and murals showing what happened to characters during your playthrough.
A Hero They Deserve / Coward’s Path Ending
Another ending can be triggered by leaving Veil Sangora, which is called A Hero They Deserve / Coward’s Path ending and can be accessed while your family is still in danger.
To trigger the ending, travel to the location which is on the west side of the Coward’s Path on the map, where you will see a gate, and going through it will lead to the ending. The route must be completed at night because you will need Shadow Step to cross the broken bridge and reach the other side. A longer Shadow Step range makes the trip easier, although you can also use the ability to climb the wall.
Once you reach the gate, go through it and choose to leave the valley. The game will immediately move into this ending, allowing you to abandon Veil Sangora and everyone still trapped there.
Time Runs Out (No Achievement) Ending
There is also an ending that occurs when you run out of time. You don’t need to complete a special quest for this one. Simply allow the 30-day limit to expire.
The easiest way to do this is to repeatedly wait at a shrine until the remaining time runs out. Once the final day is reached, Brencis reaches your family’s cells, and your family is killed. You can continue toward another ending afterward, but your family will already be gone.
The Turncoat / A Deal with the Devil Ending
This ending requires you to side with Brencis rather than fight him. Return to the same location where you summoned him in the Folk Hero / A Lone Wolf’s Hunt ending and begin the nighttime encounter again.
But this time, instead of fighting him, follow him. During the conversation, stop accusing him and begin start to acknowledge and accept whatever he says, and choose responses along the lines of believing him and wanting your family back.
Brencis offers to return your family and spare the village, but in exchange, he wants you to betray the rebels or manumits. Agree to his terms and accept the task. You will eventually be sent to mark the rebel hideout, where you will fight a number of different enemies along the way, including the essence of grief. After fighting all the enemies and following Brencis, eventually you will meet your dad and sell out the rebels as Brencis demands.
Following this, your quest will go to the manumit hideout. If you don’t know where the hideout is, you will have to unlock it. The location is in the city, and it is recommended to carry this out at night so you can use Shadow Step to enter the area more easily.
Once the hideout is marked, stay nearby and watch what happens. Brencis will attack the rebels, including Craig, who is killed during the sequence. Despite betraying the rebellion, this route does allow you to save your family, and the ending awards an achievement for doing so.
The Knyazmaker Ending
The next ending is The Knyazmaker, which is tied to the rebellion and the Rise at Dawn quest. You must first help Craig and the Rebellion throughout their objectives. Once the relevant quest becomes available, return to the same house in the city that you marked for The Turncoat / A Deal with the Devil ending and take the staircase to go downstairs after entering the house to speak with Marat.
Here you will tell him about the option involving Brencis’s parley offer, but for this ending you will choose, “I’m ready to march on Brencis’s castle.”
The mission then becomes a large assault on the castle. Follow Marat and the group and rappel down into the area, killing the guards, and help open the gate for the allied troops. Since this is going to be done in daytime, Brencis cannot come out of the castle to defend or fight.
Once the assault begins, you will eventually enter the castle through a secret route. Continue through the caves and castle, defeat the wardens and soldiers to reach the prison to search for your family.
After progressing farther through the castle, you will eventually reach the throne room and confront Brencis. The battle this time with him will be considerably different, as you will fight him as a human rather than the vampire version. After defeating him, choose the option “Perish then”. This completes the Knyazmaker ending and awards its achievement.
Unlike the outcomes of other endings, your family will be able to survive in this ending, which means you can continue interacting with them in the village afterward. The ending also provides additional conversations and a new legendary weapon called Gladius.
Once the post-ending chores are completed, you can visit Anka’s hut and see another sequence involving Lunka. She appears in a transformed state, and the ending introduces another character connected to Lacra. The game then concludes with Lunka, followed by the mural sequence that reveals more about the fate of the characters in your playthrough.
The Patricide / Rise at Dawn Ending
This ending is connected to Lacra’s storyline and the Midnight Reckoning quest. To access it, complete Lacra’s storyline and then meet her at night when you’re ready to attack Brencis. This ending takes place in a location that is on the far-left side of the map.
Tell Lacra that you are ready to deal with Brencis and follow her into the ruins. The quest takes you through a strange sequence involving a large orb, blood, and a dangerous supernatural area before eventually leading into the castle.
Once inside, much of the route resembles the earlier castle section, including the rooms where you have to follow the correct doors. During the escape sequence, follow the red banners to find the correct paths through the repeating room.
Eventually, you reach Brencis and discover that your family has been taken. This confrontation differs from the earlier fights, with Lacra involved during part of the encounter.
Defeat Brencis and continue through the final sequence. This unlocks the Patricide ending and its associated achievement, while your family remains alive.
Together Forever Ending
The final ending is Together Forever, and it is also the most difficult one involving a hidden route.
This ending begins during the Home Sweet Home mission while progressing through the rebellion-related Who Pulls the Strings quest. Eventually, the mission will take you to Aurelius’ Tower.
Once you reach the tower, make your way to the very top of the tower and inspect the door. If you peek through the door, you will see something with contraptions. When you open it, the game sends you back to the beginning of the game, where you are with your family and have only basic equipment.
But your previously unlocked skills remain available, like having strong Sword Mastery abilities and being comfortable with blocking and dodging, which will be useful and necessary while attempting this ending.
The house eventually becomes trapped in a time loop, forcing you to repeat a series of fights, which will include defeating enemies around your mom. You only have four sausages available for healing, so avoiding unnecessary damage is extremely important.
To unlock this ending, you must survive the loop five times in a row. The first cycle includes enemies around your mother, while later cycles introduce the ethereal enemies and the boss.
On the second cycle, you will encounter an inspection point near the well, but you should continue fighting the boss instead of entering it. Keep repeating the encounters and defeating the boss until you’ve completed the cycle four times.
When you return for the fifth cycle, the final secret sequence becomes available. Speak with your mother to trigger the Together Forever achievement and end the game.
This ending provides little beyond the achievement and final ending sequence, making it more of a challenge than a major story route.
