Teardown’s Free Multiplayer Update Launches on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on September 15

Teardown Multiplayer Update

Tuxedo Labs has announced that the free multiplayer update for Teardown will arrive on both PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on September 15, 2026. The free update marks the game’s biggest console update yet and introduces a range of multiplayer modes. Players will also be able to experience the base game’s campaign cooperatively and experiment with destruction alongside others in Sandbox Mode.

The update will support up to 12 players across several multiplayer modes. Players will be able to compete in familiar modes such as Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, and Capture the Flag, while Sandbox Mode will offer a more open-ended space for groups to experiment with Teardown’s physics-driven destruction.

Multiplayer will also allow players to tackle the base game’s campaign together in co-op. This means heists that were previously designed around single-player gameplay can now be approached with multiple players working together.

Console players will have access to the game’s existing collection of maps, alongside two new dual-sided multiplayer arenas. The update will also bring an expanded selection of community-created maps to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, giving players additional environments for competitive and cooperative modes.

The multiplayer update will arrive alongside Mod Pack 6, which introduces 30 new multiplayer-compatible mods for console players. The selection includes community-created experiences ranging from Prop Hunt and Battle Royale to cooperative zombie survival modes.

Several previously released mod packs are also receiving updates, allowing more existing mods to be used in multiplayer. This expands the number of ways console players can experience Teardown with others beyond the game’s standard competitive modes.

Teardown is built around realistic physics and a voxel-based, fully destructible world. Its gameplay gives players considerable freedom when approaching objectives, particularly during its heist missions, where buildings, vehicles, and objects can often be manipulated or destroyed to create new routes.
