Malaysian indie developer Algorocks is bringing Mini Tank Mayhem to Xbox Series X|S and Windows on August 25, expanding the roguelike tower-defense game beyond its current PC audience. The $12.99 release comes several months after the game’s April debut on Steam, where it has earned a largely positive response from players.
At its core, Mini Tank Mayhem combines two genres that don’t traditionally share the same battlefield: tower defense and deckbuilding. Instead of constructing a conventional network of static defenses, players build their defensive force through cards, using them to deploy tanks, modify units, and activate abilities while waves of alien enemies advance.
That card-based structure also changes how players approach individual runs. Between waves, new cards and artifacts can be added to a deck, allowing players to develop combinations around their chosen commander. Different commanders begin with their own decks and playstyles, while the game’s large selection of cards and artifacts can push a run in very different directions.
The tactical layer extends beyond simply choosing powerful cards. Tank placement and the interaction between units, abilities, and the battlefield can determine whether a defensive setup survives later waves. A recent review highlighted the game’s limited placement areas and evolving attack lanes as important parts of its strategy, requiring players to prepare for threats that may not be active yet.
That emphasis on adapting a build is particularly important in the game’s roguelike structure. Boss encounters can disrupt strategies that worked during earlier waves, forcing players to reconsider their deck and make use of the combinations available during each run. A full run takes roughly an hour, according to Algorocks.
The game has also continued to build its Steam audience since launch. Steam currently lists Mini Tank Mayhem with a “Very Positive” overall user rating, with around 90% of reviews marked positive. The Xbox and Windows release will include the content already available in the Steam version, including multiple commanders, hundreds of cards and artifacts, boss encounters, and 45 achievements.
Mini Tank Mayhem launches on Xbox Series X|S and Windows on August 25, 2026, for $12.99. The game is already available on PC via Steam.
