Maps and Best Hiding Spots Guide – Meccha Chameleon
This guide features the official maps included in the game. Custom maps will have their own unique hiding places. Meccha Chameleon currently features seven official maps that you can play on:
- Backrooms
- Hide-and-Seek Mansion
- Indoor Country
- Osaka
- Penguin Hotel
- Sewer
- Sugar Land
Backrooms
The Backrooms is inspired by the familiar office setting with yellow walls, scattered furniture, and piles of random objects. Its hiding spots provide plenty of opportunities to disappear into the environment.
- One of the safest areas is the section filled with chairs, ladders, and drawers. The objects create natural cover, and the nearby shadows help your camouflage look much more convincing.
- Trash piles placed along the walls are another reliable choice. Matching the colors of the garbage and squeezing into these corners can make it surprisingly difficult to notice.
- Several office cubicles also work well for hiding. Although fitting inside these spaces takes careful positioning, hunters often overlook players who blend into the surrounding furniture.
- The birthday party hallway is another interesting location. Balloons, chairs, and cakes give you multiple objects to imitate.
- Finally, don’t ignore the damaged highway section with abandoned police cars. You can blend beside the vehicles, hide underneath the lights, or use the broken road itself as cover.
Hide-and-Seek Mansion
The mansion is one of the most difficult maps in the game, filled with many rooms, party decorations, and countless small hiding spots. Its large number of objects gives Chameleons many ways to stay hidden.
- The ballroom is usually the first place hunters search, but it still offers plenty of hiding options. Balloons, chairs, ceiling edges, and dark corners all provide good opportunities if your camouflage matches the surroundings.
- The study is another excellent location. Shelves, chairs, and books create plenty of visual clutter, making it easier to disappear when you use similar colors.
- A small corner of the study contains a chair beside the bookshelves, creating a good hiding place that hunters may walk past without noticing.
- Nearby, the storage room is filled with loose objects and clutter. Blending into these items can make you look like part of the room.
- The final side room combines bookshelves, chairs, and decorative objects. Although it is fairly small, careful positioning can still make it a useful hiding place.
Indoor Country
Indoor Country recreates the feeling of a barn inside an enclosed building. Hay bales, pumpkins, animal statues, and farming decorations fill the map.
- One corner contains treasure chests, haystacks, pumpkins, and containers. These objects naturally make blending much easier.
- The horse statue area is another popular location. You can position yourself around the statues or use the nearby pumpkins to help complete your disguise.
- The pumpkin patch gives you another creative option. Matching the pumpkin colors or blending with the surrounding dirt and fence can produce convincing camouflage.
- Large stacks of hay are scattered throughout the map as well. Although hunters often inspect these areas, careful positioning can still keep you hidden.
- Near the middle of the map, colorful balloons hang overhead. With the right paint colors, these decorations can become effective hiding spots.
Osaka
Osaka is the smallest official map, which means hunters can search it much faster.
- One side of the map features a large truck and an open area surrounded by walls. The truck bed, nearby shadows, and the space underneath the vehicle all provide useful hiding spots.
- Unlike many other maps, Osaka offers several elevated hiding places. Large signs and decorative structures above the streets allow players to hide well.
- The shops throughout the map also contain useful cover. Fans, crates, metal walls, and store decorations give you plenty of surfaces to blend into.
- Trash bags and fallen octopus statues create another set of hiding opportunities. Lying beside these objects while matching their colors often works better than standing in open areas.
- Finally, alleyways filled with plywood, crates, and rubbish provide several smaller hiding places where careful painting can make you almost invisible.
Penguin Hotel
Penguin Hotel is one of the largest maps, featuring multiple floors and rooms filled with decorations.
- The main ballroom is crowded with penguin statues, plush toys, balloons, and decorations. With so many objects close together, players have plenty of choices for creating disguises.
- The upper floor overlooking the ballroom offers additional hiding locations around tables, statues, and oversized dice.
- One of the side rooms is packed with penguin plush toys. Matching their colors and shapes makes this one of the best places to hide.
- The bedroom area also provides several options. Under the bed, inside the bathroom, or beside furniture are all locations worth trying during a match.
- Even the hallways connecting each room contain enough furniture and decorations to create effective hiding spots if you position yourself carefully.
Sewer
The Sewer map is a dark underground area filled with equipment, rubbish, and dim lighting.
- Near the center of the map, you will find stacks of canisters, trash bins, and sandbags. These objects create plenty of cover for you to hide.
- One side of the sewer includes a small tea area with unusual lighting. Matching the colors while choosing a suitable pose can help you remain unnoticed.
- Locker rooms are also available throughout the map. Open lockers, drawers, and overhead lighting provide multiple ways to disguise yourself among the furniture.
- Another section contains water, concrete blocks, graffiti, and storage bins. These different textures allow players to experiment.
- Finally, areas with gas barrels, vending machines, and exposed pipes can be excellent hiding spots.
Sugar Land
Sugar Land is a colorful candy-themed map filled with bright decorations, desserts, and oversized sweets.
- One side of the map features candy houses, chocolate hills, and stacks of chocolate bars. The higher structures create useful hiding places that hunters sometimes forget to check.
- The center area contains piles of gumdrops and candy mountains. Blending with these colorful objects can make your character disappear.
- Near one corner is a tall locker beside the candy mountain. Whether you choose to hide higher up or stay close to the ground, this area offers several positions to hide.
- The large white cake and nearby tree provide another excellent location. You can blend into the tree, hide beneath the branches, or even match the strawberries decorating the cake.
- The final section contains several gingerbread houses grouped. Hiding between the buildings or climbing onto the rooftops can help you avoid hunters.
