This Solarpunk Guide details how you can fix the vending machine and then use it to sell your unwanted items. The Vending Machine gives you a useful way to clear out extra items while earning tickets that can be exchanged for cosmetic rewards. Since most items only provide a single ticket, collecting enough to unlock every reward takes time. However, a few valuable items can speed up the process and help you reach the required total much faster.
Vending Machine Guide – Solarpunk
The first time you find the Vending Machine, it will not be working. Before you can use it, you must repair it by providing 1 Refined Cobalt.
Cobalt becomes available after unlocking Airship Upgrade 2. Mine some Cobalt Ore, refine it in a Furnace, and return to the machine with the finished material. Once repaired, the Vending Machine remains available for the rest of your playthrough.
From this point onward, you can spend the tickets you earn to unlock different cosmetic items. Purchasing every reward requires a total of 17,500 tickets, which also unlocks the “I Hope Your Items Don’t Get Stuck” achievement.
Available Cosmetic Rewards
The Vending Machine offers several cosmetic unlocks for your airship and base decorations. Each reward costs a different number of tickets.

How to Earn Tickets
Tickets are not earned directly from the Vending Machine. Instead, you must send items away using a Postbox, which becomes available after unlocking the Tier 3 Energy Bench upgrade.
To build a Postbox, gather the following materials:
- Iron x10
- Copper x10
- Silicon x10
- Cobalt x10
Once the Postbox is built, you can place unwanted items inside and exchange them for tickets.
Best Items to Send
Most materials and items only reward 1 ticket, so reaching 17,500 tickets can take a long time if you only use common resources. Fortunately, a few items are worth much more and can greatly reduce the amount of grinding required.

The Foodbasket is by far the most valuable item you can send. It is crafted using:
- Sheep’s Milk x5
- Truffle x5
- Egg x5
All of these ingredients come from caring for your animals by keeping them supplied with food, water, and shelter.
Changing Your Airship’s Appearance
After purchasing new airship color options from the Vending Machine, you can apply them whenever you like. Interact with the table located at your dock and choose any unlocked color to give your airship a new look.
