Remedy Entertainment has announced the release date of CONTROL Resonant. The sequel to its critically acclaimed 2019 action-adventure CONTROL will launch worldwide on September 24, 2026. The announcement was made during Sony’s PlayStation State of Play showcase, alongside a new trailer revealing further details about the game’s story and setting.
The game launches on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. The PS5 Digital Deluxe Edition includes 48 hours of early access ahead of the full launch. GeForce NOW support is confirmed at launch, with a Mac version via Steam and the App Store following later in the year. CONTROL Resonant is being self-published by Remedy Entertainment, with Annapurna Pictures co-financing and co-producing as part of an ongoing strategic partnership.
Remedy Announces the Release Date of CONTROL: Resonant
The sequel follows Dylan Faden, brother of the original protagonist Jesse Faden, voiced by Sean Durrie. With Jesse missing, Dylan is sent by the Federal Bureau of Control into a crisis-stricken Manhattan where a new form of paranatural resonance, alongside returning threats, the Hiss and the Mold, is warping reality itself. He is joined by new FBC ally Zoe de Vera, as well as returning characters Simon Arish and Emily Pope from the original game.
Creative Director Mikael Kasurinen described Dylan’s journey as one centred on “identity, power, and sacrifice,” with Dylan forced to confront his past as a former FBC test subject and “rediscover his humanity” in a world he was never meant to be part of.
Chief Commercial Officer Johannes Paloheimo called CONTROL Resonant “Remedy’s most expansive game ever,” adding that the studio’s marketing push will match the ambition of the game itself, with further events and reveals planned through Summer Game Fest and beyond ahead of the September launch.
The game will be the most localised Remedy title to date, with full audio, interface, and subtitle support in English, Brazilian Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Spanish (Spain), and additional subtitle and interface support in several more languages, including Korean, Polish, Russian, and Turkish.
