Swan Song Release Date Set for June 4 on PC via Steam

Swan Song Release Date

Belgian indie developer Business Goose Studios has announced the release date for its upcoming puzzle game Swan Song. Swan Song will launch on Steam on June 4. The release date was revealed during the Galaxies Showcase, alongside a new trailer highlighting the game’s narrative and music-based mechanics.

Swan Song is a cozy puzzle experience set inside a music box, where players arrange notes on a scale to create melodies that influence the environment. These compositions activate platforms and pathways, guiding a swan through each level toward its nest while gradually revealing fragments of an underlying story. Music plays a central role, with an original score composed by Jamal Green, known for his work on TOEM, reinforcing the emotional tone throughout the game.

Swan Song’s story is inspired by a real family experience from one of the developers, centering on themes of loss, memory, and acceptance. Despite the serious and personal tones, the game has been crafted carefully to resonate with players who have gone through a similar experience. The narrative combines a clever puzzle design with emotional storytelling, presented with warm visuals.

The game shifts away from the studio’s earlier work on Sizeable, which focused on scale-based puzzles, toward a more personal and narrative-driven approach. Its design combines simple interaction with a slower pace, emphasizing reflection through both gameplay and presentation. The studio’s debut title has so far managed to sell over 200K copies and is currently sitting on Steam with an Overwhelmingly Positive rating.
