This Reanimal Chapter 5 Walkthrough Guide details how you can complete the fifth chapter: Down in a Hole, and find all collectibles in it. Chapter 5 places you and your partner physically tied together, making teamwork more important than ever. Tight paths, enemies, and a major spider boss fight make this chapter intense, but it also contains several secrets, posters, masks, and trophies.
Chapter 5 Walkthrough Guide – Reanimal
The chapter begins with both characters hanging from a rope, tied to each other. Swing left and right using the left stick, then press Triangle / Y repeatedly until the rope snaps and you fall to the ground.
Move forward and jump across the broken road sections. Because you are connected by a rope, you must stay close to your partner. If you move too far away from each other, the rope will pull one of you into the abyss. As you continue, interact with every street lamp you see to light them up. After switching them on, a short scene plays where a creature climbs along a wall.
Soon you will reach a section where the path splits in two, one narrow route on the left and one on the right. Since you are tied together, careful positioning is required. One character must use the left path while the other takes the right. In single-player, the AI partner will automatically move into safe positions once you stand in the correct spots.
Move slowly and carefully. On the right side, step forward and jump a gap when your partner is near enough. Stop at the small side extension so your partner on the left can safely advance. When positioned correctly, both characters can move forward at the same time and cross safely. Take your time here, as rushing can cause a fall.
After reaching stable ground, continue forward until you meet a friendly NPC. He eventually places a wooden plank across a gap so you can move ahead.
Pig Interaction – Trophy
Shortly after crossing, a pig runs across your screen. Follow it toward the left side and interact with it. Doing this unlocks the trophy “Creature Comforts.”
Hidden Poster
Not long after, a large spider chases you. Escape it and enter the next safe room. Inside this room, go to the right and use your crowbar to open a wardrobe. Then interact with it to squeeze through a hidden opening behind it. Inside the secret space, you will find Poster 12 (Secret 28) on the wall.
Return to the main room afterward.
Resting Spot & Piano Trophy
Back in the previous room, sit either on the chair in the center or the couch on the left side. This gives you Rest Your Legs 10. If you’ve used all resting spots so far in earlier chapters, the related trophy should unlock here. If not, you can still get it later.
Continue forward until you see a small piano on the left side before a staircase. Interact with the piano three times in a row to unlock the trophy “Lullabye.”
Poster 13
Go upstairs and enter the door on the left. This leads to a balcony area where Poster 13 (Secret 29) is waiting.
Return inside and help your partner up the next staircase. Exit through the door at the top to reach another balcony area. There is also another seating opportunity here in case you previously missed one.
At the end of the balcony, turn right and carefully walk across a thin pipe. Jump left onto the roof, go left, and interact with a window that allows you to climb into the building.
Key, Hatch & Cellar Escape
Inside the room, you will find a key on the right side near a couch. Picking it up triggers an enemy attack. Defeat the enemy, then use the key to unlock a hatch in the floor.
You will fall into a potato storage cellar. Help your partner out of the potatoes by interacting with them. The large spider returns here. Hide behind the first set of crates and watch its head movements. When it looks away, crouch and move quietly to the next box. Continue sneaking left when it shifts its attention. Once you reach the hole in the wall, start running, as the spider will notice you here no matter what.
Sprint across the rooftop, knock down a pipe to create a path, cross it, and keep running. This leads to the spider boss fight, with smaller enemies joining the battle.
“Shot Through the Heart” Trophy
During this boss fight, child enemies appear and throw spears at you while the spider moves in and out of the arena.
To unlock “Shot Through the Heart”, defeat 10 kid enemies by throwing spears back at them. Focus only on the kids at first and do not damage the spider until you’ve earned this trophy. If the spider is defeated too early, the smaller enemies stop spawning.
Each time the spider disappears, a small group of kids appears and throws spears. Pick one up and quickly throw it back at a child enemy before the spider returns. You will usually only have time to throw one spear per round, so repeat this process patiently until you’ve defeated 10 kids this way.
The spider typically attacks from two locations. If it appears in the center front, stay far left. If it spawns from the left side, move far right. Positioning properly helps you avoid getting hit.
If you miss the trophy, you can restart from the checkpoint and try again. After finally defeating the spider, follow it into its cave and climb into its mouth to continue.
Final Escape
You will respawn outside near military trucks and armed soldiers. Stay hidden behind crates until the soldiers walk away. Once it is safe, interact with the back of the truck on the right side. Wait quietly as it drives you away. Eventually, the truck crashes, and this brings Chapter 5 to an end.
