Italian developer Commodore Industries has released Millennium Runners in full on Steam, bringing its anti-gravity racing game to PC after a prolonged development cycle that included multiple delays and a limited soft launch. The game is available now and marks the studio’s first complete commercial release under the Commodore Sinapsy label.

Positioned as a modern take on classic arcade racers, Millennium Runners combines high-speed anti-gravity vehicles with sci-fi track design inspired by genre staples from the 1990s and early 2000s. Players race across alien planets featuring sharp elevation changes, extreme curves, and large-scale jumps, with physics tuned toward fast reaction times rather than simulation-style handling.

The game includes three primary modes: Race, Time Attack, and Last Ship Standing, along with a Career Mode that lets players compete for different racing teams. Progression is tied to completing objectives for each team, unlocking new ships and performance perks that affect speed, handling, and durability. A separate Grand Prix mode introduces tournament-style cups with increasing difficulty, designed to expose all tracks in the game gradually.

Races take place across four planets, each with distinct environmental hazards. These range from Neo-Earth, a densely developed capital world, to RV-286, a volatile planetoid marked by acid lakes and magnetic storms. Players can compete across six rival teams, each with its own visual identity and lore elements tied to the game’s universe.

Millennium Runners also features an original soundtrack composed by Abyss and 100% Amiga DJ, with remixes by Alessandro Bertaccini. The music leans heavily into synthwave and retro-futuristic influences, reflecting the game’s roots in classic Amiga-era design. The soundtrack is also available separately as downloadable content on Steam.

While anti-gravity racing remains a niche genre, releases like Millennium Runners highlight a continued interest in arcade-focused alternatives to mainstream racing simulations. Rather than chasing realism, the game prioritizes speed, visual style, and mechanical clarity, aiming to appeal to players looking for shorter, skill-driven races with a strong retro identity.
