Hollow Knight: Silksong Swift Step Guide

Swift Step is an important skill in Hollow Knight: Silksong, and this will be your second skill that you acquire in the game. It is a very helpful skill because it will allow you to move quickly in the game. Acquiring it requires a little bit of patience and in-game progress, and it could take you a while to acquire it on your own. This Hollow Knight: Silksong Swift Step Guide will help you obtain the Swift Step ability in the game easily.

Swift Step Guide – Hollow Knight: Silksong

For this guide, we will be starting from Shakra’s location in Deep Docks. If you need help finding Shakra in Deep Docks, we have marked it on the map below.

From Shakra’s location, start going up using the platforms, and you will come across a flying enemy above.

Kill this enemy and go left on the platform to hit a level. This will raise the platform on the right a little bit, allowing you to use it and reach the top of the level.

In the next area, drop down until you are on the platforms in the lava. Start making your way to the right side of this area. There are some enemies in your way, and you can kill them or avoid them. We prefer killing as it makes moving around easier at the expense of a few seconds. Watch out for rocks dropping down from the ceiling as well.

When you reach a section where there is a lot of lava and nowhere else to go, you will need to jump into the lava and ‘skim’ across its surface. The lava does not damage you instantly, but if you spend more time on it, it will start causing damage. To avoid this, jump inside the lava, but as soon as you land inside it, jump again to avoid any damage. Keep jumping across this section until you can land on safe zones.

At the end of this area, jump above the platforms and hit the glowing orange lava piece on the roof. This will cause it to explode and give you access to the next room, but you must avoid this explosion by going below the small platform. In the room above, if you have 50 Rosary Beads, you can go right to purchase a Bench; otherwise, continue climbing the platforms. Keep climbing to the very top, and then go right, and then jump up to reach the next section of the map.

Now head left, and you will come across two red bugs sitting at a campfire. Attack them to trigger an arena battle. Kill all of the bugs to proceed further left.

There will be four waves of enemies, starting with small ground, medium ground, air enemies, and then 1 medium ground and 1 air enemy for the final wave. It is a manageable fight. Once it is clear, move left and drop down into the next arena.

There are some more drops here, so watch out for spikes and enemies, and keep going down. Once you reach the bottom of the area, start going to the left side and enter the next area. This is the chamber where you will find Swift Step.

Keep going left while avoiding the pits, and you will soon arrive at the tower where you can pick up Swift Step. Stand in front of the tower and bind with it to receive the Swift Step.
