Hollow Knight: Silksong features a massive, beautiful world for you to explore; however, it can tend to become a little overwhelming if you have no idea where you are going and where you need to go next. Sticking true to the Metroidvania formula, it comes with a map that guides you through every crevice of the game, but it is not available to you right from the start of the game. Map Guide – Hollow Knight: Silksong

Pharloom is a huge world, but you will need to progress in the game a little before you can get your hands on the map. Similar to the original game, you must find the map merchant and purchase the map from her. This time around, the path is not that hard, and you can easily make it there, but you do need to defeat a tutorial boss before you do that. You start the game in the Moss Grotto, so continue going up by following the path. There is little exploration here, so the path is fairly linear. Continue following it, and you will ultimately reach your very first mini-boss of the game, called Moss Mother.

After defeating the boss, you must continue ahead and go up where you will speak to an older bug. After the cutscene is over, move right to reach the small town of Bone Bottom. Continue going right, and you will soon enter a brand-new area. This area is called The Marrow, and it serves as the second area of the game. And you will find the map merchant here. Continue progressing to the right side, but when you reach the big hall with the lava, you need to start travelling up and left. You will notice some platforms and ledges to help you move in the right direction.

When you reach the room where the platforms will fall if you step on them, make your way to the top and left. Continue down the shaft, and you will soon hear someone singing. This is the sign that you have reached the merchant. As you go near, you will start seeing a lot of dead bugs and bells littering the ground. This is yet another sign that you are on the right path. The merchant is called Shakra, and you can interact with her to purchase new maps for different regions and other accessories that are used for map charting. You will need Rosary beads to buy the maps and their accessories.

Shakra is the main map merchant of Hollow Knight: Silksong, and after this, you will need to find her in every other region to purchase maps of those regions. Once you have acquired the map, you can view it at any time to see where you are and what paths lie ahead of you, or any that you may have missed behind.
