Ubisoft has announced the release of the new limited-time event Apocalypse for Rainbow Six Siege. The new event is part of the ongoing Rainbow Six Siege Year 6 Season 1. The event is now live in the game and it will remain active for two weeks, ending on May 18, 2021. The new event Apocalypse introduces a post-apocalyptic version of Outback where players will have to fight for their clan, hope, and freedom to revitalize life.
In the world of Apocalypse, humanity’s dependence on nuclear energy ultimately led to the fall of civilization and the emergence of two clans, The Keepers and The Warband. These warriors and scavengers seek the last plant on Earth, which holds the power to re-grow life on Earth.
Apocalypse introduces a new game mode Canister to the game in which players fight as The Keepers (Defenders) or The Warband (Attackers) for the last remaining plant on Earth. Defenders have the ability to move the canister containing the flower around the map while the Attackers have access to specific scanner rooms to detect the defenders as they move through the rooms.
The main objective of Attackers is to defuse the canister transporting the plant while the Defenders have to ensure the protection of the canister until the time runs out. Like normal Rainbow Six Siege matches, another key winning option is to kill the opposing team entirely. Meeting any of the two winning conditions will term the winning team victorious for the match. Canister will remain live in the game as long as the event is online, so you have around two weeks to play it.
Apart from the new game mode, The Apocalypse also brings its own collection of 35 items featuring Fuze, Gridlock, Maverick, Nomad, Twitch, Maestro, Melusi, Rook, Smoke, and Valkyrie. You can add new personalized headgears, weapon skins, and uniforms to your collection. Each Operator’s exclusive, time-limited customization items are available to purchase as Bundles in the Shop for 1680 R6 credits or via the Apocalypse pack for 300 R6 credits or 12,500 Renown.
