Captilight Games has announced the release of Path of Kami demo on Itch io and Game Jolt, which is going to be available today. The announcement comes before the preparation for the game’s crowdfunding campaign and the exhibit at Otronicon.
The developer has also stated that it plans to release a demo of the game on Steam, sometime in the summer of 2021.
Path of Kami follows the spirit of recently-deceased Japanese wolf Kazeyo as he navigates the trials of the Mortal and Spirit World in the form of puzzles. Path of Kami contains elements of both traditional Japanese folktales (Momotaro, Issun-Boushi), as well as a more personal journey for the main character.
Players who download the demo on Itch io or Game Jolt will get to explore the five areas set in the Mortal Realm, solving puzzles and navigating through the map to collect spirit keys. You will get to explore a beautiful snowy, watercolor-esque environment while collecting collectibles and lighting lanterns. In addition, you will also get to enjoy beautiful music and sound effects that are awe-inspiring and relaxing.
