Merge Games has announced that Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles – Enhanced Edition is releasing on PS5 in May along with a Signature Edition. The Signature Edition will release alongside the Enhanced Edition release on the PS5 and will ship with exclusive enamel pins, a companion art book, a numbered art print featuring the dev’s signatures, and a super-cute cat keyring. The Nintendo Switch version of the game is getting a refresh as well.
Set on the vibrant island of Gemea, Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles offers a lush frontier with eight distinct environments. These environments range from sunny and tropical beaches to frigid, snow-capped summits. Each location in the game has its own flora and fauna complete with changing seasons and a day-night cycle. This beautiful island is however enshrouded by the mysterious Murk and the people are now in despair.
You step in the story as the hero of Gemea where you must seek out the hidden and whimsical creatures known as Sprites and use their power to clear the Murk and restore nature’s beauty. The world of Gemea offers you different opportunities such as bartering, discovering unique materials to craft with, and befriending the adorable wildlife. You also have the ability to create your very own working farm as well.
The island is inhabited by various locals and as you contribute to the island with your skills such as farming, crafting, cooking, fishing and brewing, you can start and maintain healthy relationships with them. As a reward, the locals will offer everything that they have in return including resources to new farms as a reward.
