Lucid Games Gives First Look into Destruction AllStars Game Modes

Destruction AllStars Game Modes

Lucid Games has just provided a brief first look into Destruction AllStars game modes. The community manager at the company, George Rule, posted on the PlayStation Blog talking about the game modes players can expect.

Starting with Mayhem, which is a classic deathmatch mode, playable both in teams or solo. The mode will have you wreck as many opponents as you can and deal damage until the timer runs out. Though it sounds familiar, Rule says that “you can control the chaos by mastering the balance between vehicle and character action.”

The second mode is Carnado, which brings everything from Mayhem, plus more. Again, this mode can be play solo or in teams, but is focused on risk and reward. You can earn rewards such as in-game items for damaging and wrecking opponents. You can also sacrifice your vehicle by driving it into the Carnado to score points. The more you wreck with a vehicle, the more Gears you earn.

The third mode is Stockpile, which is all about capture and control. It is a team-based more, where wrecking or knocking out opponents will cause Gears to drop on the floor. Collect them on foot or in your vehicle and then deposit them at the banks around the map. The team with the most banks at the end of the match will win.

The fourth mode is Gridfall where 16 AllStars enter the arena, but only one will come out as the winner. Use your skills to stay alive in the game as the arena will fall from under your wheels. Wreck opponents or push them off the map, and take refuge on the platforms above. You can respawn in the game, but if you run out of them, you are out for good.
