The Shattering is a new Psychological Thriller Releasing This Month for PC

The Shattering

A new psychological thriller game called The Shattering has been announced by Super Sexy Software and Deck13 Spotlight. The thriller indie title is going to release this month on April 21 and will be available on Steam.

Take a look at the game trailer below:

You will play as John, and experience the key moments that have defined and shaped him. Players will be tasked with finding out the truth, the shattering lies and most importantly, finding out what really happened to him. The game description also hints that John is trying to remember “her” name, which might be another mysterious character tied to the story of the game.

The game is developed by a team of 5 friends, where the game first started growing its roots back in 2013. It is at that time where the idea of black and white contrast was being imagined for the horror game. The purpose of the white and back theme is to show how the horror and fear factors can be achieved with everything white but lacking any information being given to the black.

One of the team members, Matt Rusiniak, from Super Sexy Software had this to say about their new title,

Nothing is scarier than nothing. Explore The Shattering —a tense mystery that delves into a starkly pristine world whose implacable facade belies a subtle horror just underneath the surface— when it launches on April 21st on Steam.

Here are the key features of the game:

  • Beautiful and rich realistic environments painted with a pristine white aesthetic provide a original scenery that stands apart
  • An intriguing story split into five acts that piece together knowledge of the past and an understanding of the present as the player progresses
  • A sublime, gripping and intense original score that breathes life into each moment
