Resident Evil 2 Remake – Gameplay, Leon, Claire, Collector’s Edition

Capcom has released a new gameplay for its upcoming Resident Evil 2 Remake this week at Gamescom 2018. This new gameplay video features Claire Redfield who is one of the main characters from the classic game that was released in 1998. The game is set to be released on January 25, 2019.

The remake of Resident Evil 2 is not a remaster but in fact a total remake of the 1998 game. In this title, you are once again controlling the main character, Claire Redfield who must escape Racoon city after the residents of the city have been turned into zombies by a virus.

The idea of a remake was suggested by Capcom’s producer Yoshiaki “H” Hirabayashi back in 2015. This idea was met with a lot of positive support which prompted Yoshiaki Hirabayashi to consider a remake that is now going to be available next year.

The remake was also featured by Nvidia during the week of Gamescom 2018. The graphic card manufacturer played a four minute video gameplay that showed of the game graphics running at 60fps at 4k resolution.

Resident Evil 2 Remake also comes in a collecter’s edition version. This edition has a special packaging design and extra DLC pack. The content of the DLC includes three outfits for Claire, two outfits for Leon, a code to listen to the original music while you play the game and the Albert model of a Samurai Edge weapon.

Additionally, the collector’s edition also includes a 12-inch statue of leon, an art book consisting of 32 pages, digital version of the soundtrack consisting of 25 songs, and a poster of the Racoon City Police Department. The prices of this collecter’s edition pack that includes the deluxe edition is $200 in the US.

Resident Evil 2 Remake – Release Date

Resident Evil 2 remake will be launched next year on January 25, 2019 on PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
