Daymare 1998 Puzzles Guide

Invader Studios and Destructive Creations have announced that their latest horror title Daymare: 1998 is now available on PC via Steam. A console release and other PC platforms such as GoG are planned for later as well. Daymare: 1998 takes on the classic horror formula where players must fight their way through a place where evil lurks behind every corner.

Daymare: 1998 is a third-person survival horror game which focuses heavily on hardcore survival mechanics and unyielding enemies. Players will need a strategic approach to combat and puzzles. The game offers a multi-character perspective of the story which has deep and obscure lore. The game is set inside a secret research facility where a special security team is investigating an incident. A deadly chemical weapon is also included in the mix.

Players will step in the shoes of an elite soldier, a helicopter pilot and a forest ranger who must adapt according to their own roles in an event which has transformed a peaceful town into a dead zone and its citizens into bloodthirsty monsters. Killing the creatures is not enough as players will need to look out for clues and evidence as well which will help them piece together the chaos.

Creative Director of Invader Studios, Michele Giannone said:

This is a very emotional moment for us, and we are more than happy to pass Daymare: 1998 into the hands of the gamers. Four long years have led us to this moment, and the process we endured was very difficult, but we enjoyed every moment of it.

This game was born from our passion, it was fueled by our stubbornness, and it’s our tribute to the beloved survival horror genre and the atmosphere of the ’90s in general.

We are very proud to have managed to develop a game like this with such a small team, yet we’re aware that our work is not over, and we’ll keep supporting it in the months to come. We hope you will enjoy the game and the story it tells.

The release trailer also sheds more light on the third playable character Raven who is strong on the inside but is frightened on the inside. The trailer shows how Raven survived a flight accident and is now stuck with its visions in his mind. With the reveal of Raven, we now have a detailed insight on all of the three playable characters that are present in the game at launch.

According to the official press release, the key features of Daymare: 1988 include:

  • Multi-character POV – see the story from different angles and discover the truth;
  • Fearsome enemies – rendered in detail with lifelike animations and dismemberment;
  • Realistic HUD – check your inventory, health, and the position of a given piece of equipment;
