Physical release specialist Meridiem has announced that its physical release of the technicolor rogue-like action platformer Elsie is now available on PS5 and Nintendo Switch. Originally developed by Knight Shift Games and digitally published by Playtonic Friends, Elsie is a hyperkinetic, roguelike-action-platformer filled with procedurally generated levels, an army of robots, and plenty of items and weapons to make each run unique.
For its limited physical release, Meridiem has designed and manufactured the special Magitek Edition of Elsie for PS5 and Nintendo Switch. It comes with a physical copy of the game, a special case, a sticker sheet, and a character book. Check it out:
Set on the planet Ekis, Elsie is a beautiful game featuring a world full of bounty. Ekis is filled with natural resources and scientific discovery. The game’s story begins when Dr Grey, a scientist, assembles a team of high-tech androids with the power to prevent disasters. Known as ‘The Guardians, these androids used a special energy source known as Arclight Core. This allowed them to bend the elements to their will, and they managed to maintain world peace for quite some time. However, one day these Guardians vanished without a trace, and a new threat emerged in the form of a vicious army of robots who laid siege on the city of Neotono, Dr Grey’s home.
In a desperate attempt, Dr Grey assembles one final android called Elsie, and this is where the story begins. Elsie must now find The Guardians and save the planet. Key features of the game include:
- Bullet Hell Ballet: dash, dive, and shoot your way through stages filled with dynamic enemies, all while performing perfectly timed precision parrying.
- Death is only the beginning: in this roguelike rollercoaster, die and die and die again – but you’ll always get back on your feet to embrace the chaos.
- Explore the technicolour Domains of Planet Ekis: take a tour of Planet Ekis’s vibrant neon-drenched biomes. With procedural generation leading to ever-changing levels, each run presents unique challenges and enemies.
- Augmented Action and Character Customization: make strategic decisions on upgrades, skills, and weapons to drastically alter the dynamic of each run. Experiment with different playstyles for devastating synergies.
- Challenge epic boss battles and conquer biome Guardians: test your skills against boisterous bots, massive bosses, and biome Guardians, memorizing patterns to emerge victorious.
- Master Melee Combat with a second player character: join the fray with Andru, a melee-based character featuring unique augments, weapons, and abilities. Get up close and personal to bash baddies and bring the noise!
Elsie – Magitek Edition is now available for PS5 and Nintendo Switch, while the digital edition is available on PC via Steam, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
