As you play the game and explore the first area called The Gardens, this is where you will run into the Unstable Lancer, precisely after you interact with the first Vestal checkpoint.

The battle area will be quite tight while the boss will spawn from the ground holding a long spear that it will mostly attack with. With quick stabs and swings with the spear, the Unstable Lancer has decent reach, forcing you to time your dodges and blocks.
