With its release date right around the corner, Private Division and Roll7 have released new developer videos for Rollerdrome detailing the game’s dystopian soundtrack and art style. The two videos focus on separate aspects of the game, and we have the relevant team of Rollerdrome showcasing new details and how both of these cool aspects of the game were developed and how they were inspired to be part of the game in the first place.

The first developer diary is called ‘Characters & Comic Book Style of 2030’. In this video Character Artist Rachel Cox and  Lead Artist, Antoine Dekerle share insights on their work creating the various characters and the world of Rollerdrome. Rachel Cox designed all of the characters in the game and also created the look of the main protagonist Kara Hassan. Rachel details her exploration process behind creating this serious newcomer to the brutal sport.

Lead Artist Antoine was the main man behind the world of Rollerdrome and he details how comics led him throughout the creation of the dystopian world. Check out the developer diary detailing the art style of Rollerdrome below:

The second developer diary is called ‘The Sound of 2030’ which goes deep into the soundtrack featured in the game. In the video, cult composer Electric Dragon shares his key inspirations for merging iconic 1970s textures and sounds with modern-day driving beats for Rollerdrome. He explains that in creating the soundtrack for the game, he immersed himself into the game’s 2030 setting as seen through a 1970s retro-futuristic lens. “It’s been really refreshing to dive into the 70s and I kind of don’t wanna come out,” are his official words about the game.
