Below we have detailed how you can defeat the final boss that include both Dreamer and Nightmare phases that follow in the battle. We will detail both their attacks and how you can defeat them. We will also list some best weapons in this guide that will help you massively in taking down the enemies quickly and effectively.

How to Defeat Dreamer

Your encounter with the Dreamer is the first phase of the fight. When you go to Ward 17 to fight this final boss, you will find a child wearing a helmet contraption and laying on the bed. After the cutscene, the boss battle will begin.

Dreamer is a boss that has long tentacles that it uses to attack, along with his slam attacks and high-speed projectiles that he hurls towards you. The best way to deal with the Dreamer is to have a mid to long-ranged weapon and stay some distance away from the Dreamer and his close proximity attacks.

The best weapons you can have in this phase of the fight are the long-ranged sniper rifle, with which you can deal a lot of damage from far away, and with accuracy by shooting the Dreamer’s head. The other weapon should be the Shotgun, simply because it is absolutely necessary for when the Nightmare shows in for the second phase of the battle.

How to Defeat the Nightmare

In the second phase of the fight, which is after you defeat the Dreamer, your next battle will immediately begin with Nightmare. This large boss may seem intimidating but has only a few attacks that can easily be dodged and countered.

The fight is more annoying than hard, because of the frequent teleportation into the dark world. The Nightmare relies on this attack by sending you into a dark world filled with minions. Whenever you are into this void, your health will be eating away every second, so you have to be very mindful of that and try to get out as soon as you can.

To exit the void, you need to kill 10 of the minions and then use to the portal to get back into the real world. It is best to use a shotgun here as it can take out the minions with one hit. Once you return back to the world, the Nightmare is the most vulnerable at this point, so you should attack as much as you can and hit its head for maximum damage.

The other attack that the Nightmare relies on is the barrage of fireballs it sends towards your location. This is a pretty useless attack and can be dodged quite easily. If you are playing with a friend, make sure both of you have varying weapons. Your friend can have the long-ranged sniper rifle or the assault rifle. But you should have the maxed out SMG and a weapon that deals fire damage to the enemy. Pairing these weapons after you exit from the void will deal massive amounts of damage. This can bring the fight to the end very quickly and might only require a couple or more transitions in the void before the Nightmare loses all its health.
