How to Beat Lady Luctopus
The fight begins on a blackjack table where Lady Luctopus stands on one end as the dealer, while you run about on the green table filled with towers of poker chips. On both sides of Lady Luctopus, you will find her tentacles holding cards, while there will be empty sockets that open up when you shoot at them
These sockets are key as they need to be attacked with the red explosive bulbs that Lady Luctopus coughs out at you. These bulbs will be launched at your location as one of the boss’ main attacks. However, they will only deal damage if they explode when you are near them. Lady Luctopus will typically spit out three to four of these bulbs, while you have to dodge away and not trigger their explosion.
Once she stops, use Telekinesis to take one of these light bulbs and throw it at the tentacle on the empty socket. After the short cutscene, you need to go towards this tentacle, use your mental connection ability to grapple around the boss. The path will be indicated by the grappling points. When you reach the other end of the poker chips tower, jump on the heart jump pad to reach the highest point of the chips, and then fire at the top of Lady Luctopus to open her head. Now jump inside her head and start attacking the heart inside.
This is the intended way of defeating the boss in this fight. Each time you are done hitting the heart, the boss will spit you out, repeating the fight all over again. The other attacks she brings out are the quick flurry of cards that go flying all around the table but are easy to miss as their tracks are highlighted just before the attack begins. The other is the electric defibrillator the boss uses to electrify the whole table. This attack can be easily missed if you take the higher ground by jumping on some poker chips.
