Shiny Pokémon are strong foes that will require the team leader to first beat and then catch. However, you still have a very small chance of actually catching one even after beating it. There are some ways to increase your chances of catching one, as we discuss them in this guide.

How to Catch Shiny Pokémon

There are 27 different shiny Pokémon in the game, You encounter them when you are exploring the various dungeons in the game. Some shiny Pokémon are specifically found in the various named locations on the map.

But before we go to their locations, let’s first look at how you can fight them and increase your chances of catching them. The first thing you need to acquire is the Friend Bow which will increase the chances of recruiting the shiny Pokémon after defeating it. The Friend Bow is only obtained after you have finished the game and then you can get it from Mt. Faraday.

When you encounter a shiny Pokémon, they will be marked with a yellow marker which will indicate their shiny status. You should now be expecting a tough fight as these are strong foes with beefy stats. Once your team leader defeats the Pokémon, with the equipped Friend Bow, you will have a 10% increased chance of recruiting the shiny Pokémon.
