In Pokemon Legends: Z-A, Tyrunt is a Rock and Dragon-type Fossil Pokemon. It is different from other Pokemon as well. To get it, you need to unlock the fossil revival process, which is unlocked after doing missions. It can evolve into Tyrantrum, a powerful Pokemon known for its incredible fighting and attacks. Tyrantrum’s evolved form can be unlocked by following some requirements. Our Pokemon Legends: Z-A Tyrunt Guide details how you can get Tyrunt in the game and evolve it into Tyrantrum.
How to Get Tyrunt in Pokemon Legends: Z-A
You can get Tyrunt by restoring the Jaw Fossil. This Jaw Fossil can be found and revived on the Laboratory’s second floor of the Pokemon Research Lab, located in southern Lumiose City. You can also get the Jaw Fossil by buying it from the Stone Emporium for 20,000 Poke Dollars. The shop is located on Vernal Avenue, just a little south of the Pokemon Center.
You won’t be able to restore fossils and get Tyrant right away. The fossil revival system unlocks only after completing Side Mission 27: Restored from a Fossil, which becomes available once you complete the Main Mission 10: The Secrets of Mega Evolution and reach Ranked F by defeating Vinnie in a Z-A Royale Promotion Match.
There will be a scientist in Side Mission 27, on the Lab’s second floor, who will give you 20,000 Poke Dollars and then ask you to buy a fossil from the Stone Emporium. You will get Tyrunt from the Jaw Fossil and Amaura from the Sail Fossil.
After bringing it back, the researcher will revive it and give you the Pokemon as a reward. You can buy more fossils from Stone Emporium if you want more Fossil Pokemon.
Evolving Tyrunt into Tyrantrum
Tyrunt evolves into Tyrantrum at level 39 or higher, but you can do this only during the daytime.
You can change the time of day by:
- Resting at any bench in Lumiose City, or
- Sleeping in your bed at Hotel AZ.
When it’s daytime and Tyrunt reaches level 39, open your menu, put Tyrunt in your main party, and press A to see the Evolve option. Choose “Evolve,” and your Tyrunt will transform into the powerful Tyrantrum.
