Below we have detailed how habitats work, and what you need to maintain them.

How to Build Mixed Habitat

If you are looking to build a mixed animal habitat, you need to check your Zoopedia first. Her you can check out all the animals that are compatible with each other. This way you can mix up the type of animal species you want in a single habitat.

When you have decided what mixed species of animals you want in a single habitat. You can start with the habitat building process. A few things you have to look for are that the habitat should be decently large enough for animals to co-exist and that you must have some sort of terrain or other requirements that a type of animal might need.

If any type of animal is not happy in a habitat, you can research them with your Vets to check on what you need to do in order to make them happy. There is always a way to find a balance between all the types of animals living in a habitat, and the Zoopedia highlights all such things.

Habitat Food and Enrichment

Having a mixed habitat can come with its challenges. The first and the most obvious one can be the food and the source of animal enrichment. To make things easier for you, you can use your Zoopedia to search the exact food you need for types of species in a habitat.

You can do this by going to the Habitat tab in Zoopedia. You then want to search the type of animal in the search bar. Add in the name of the animal that occupies the habitat, and then it will bring up the category for the animal. This will then highlight all the food and enrichment options that the type of animal may require.

Maintaining Habitats

We have already talked about how you can keep the animals happy in a habitat. However, you still will need to have a healthy and clean habitat with a clean source of water and a clean habitat area.

To help in that matter, you can hire Keepers. These are staff that helps around inside the habitat and cleans everything inside a habitat. Keepers also help feed the animals inside, which is also why it is good to have multiple keepers in a mixed habitat.
