Polish video game PR agency Galaktus PR announces its new branch Galaktus Games, a studio aimed at releasing board games based on popular game franchises and creating its own original IPs as well. Their very first project is a board game based on Phantom Doctrine which will go live on Kickstarter soon. Apart from their first project which is now revealed, two additional projects are also in the works and will be announced later this year.
The new studio Galaktus Games comprises of industry veterans who have been in the industry for more than 10 years and have been working on board games. Their expansive experience includes playing, reviewing, and adjusting mechanics and organizing local community events. The creators will be connected to test groups all around the country which will lead to running extensive tests of upcoming productions and collecting feedback.
This will be further complemented by good relations of Galaktus Agency with major game designers and publishers as it will help them in creating board games for popular titles. Mateusz Szukajt, co-founder of Galaktus Games commented:
We’re proud to say we want to elevate our love for gaming to new levels and out of digital entertainment to a more pen and paper one. We always dreamt of doing something of our own and if we can join knowledge of video games and board games we believe it’s the right direction to grow. We’re in touch with game developers and always want to deliver a product that is as engaging as it can possibly be and close to the original.
And on the other hand, we love to experiment, adjust mechanics, and even if it’s necessary to bury the projects and raise them from the ground with completely different rules. We’re doing that to make the best version possible. Our team is composed of people who love co-operation games, euro games, Ameritrash games, and narrated titles. That allows us to find the perfect balance when it comes to the design of the game. Thanks to our deep understanding of the gaming industry we hope to deliver board games true to their respective videogame IPs but also a high-end tabletop product. We have the freedom and resources to deliver amazing games and that’s our only goal and motto.
Galaktus Games’ first project is Phantom Doctrine which will be a co-op espionage stealth board game that will allow players to take charge and manage a Spy Agency. Their main goal will be to build a base, sneak around the enemy territory and steal information, rescue hostages, and a lot more. Agents can also become double agents that will cross players when they are least expecting them.
Players can also upgrade their base and gear up Agents as they reach better locations. These locations will grant them access to better guns, agent training in combat, and a lot more. They can later be sent to global missions that will allow them to progress in the storyline forward. It is based on the original video game developed by CreativeForge Games which was released on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. The developers are also currently working on a sequel of the game Phantom Doctrine 2: The Cabal.
