This Paper Mario: The Origami King Water Vellumental Boss Guide will show you how to defeat the Water Vellumental boss in the game. You have seen the Earth Vellumental boss before, but now you are faced with the Water Vellumental.
Water Vellumental is a blue flying dragon looking boss, that has the power of water on its side. Besides its normal attacks, it also uses water sprouts to clear out some panels on the rings to make things interesting in the battle.
Paper Mario: The Origami King Water Vellumental Boss Guide
Water Vellumental will look like a pretty intimidating boss at first, using all its power to attack you. The boss battle has two phases, and the second phase will seem to be building up for a power move against you. But we will focus on that later when the Water Vellumental’s HP drains more than 50%
Before you even begin the battle and rotate the rings, Water Vellumental will produce two Water Sprouts that will take out every panel in front of them, starting from the inner ring to the outer ring. You have to make sure that you don’t lose an important panel to the water sprouts and think out of the box to manage this counter move from the boss.
The boss will be aerial during this phase, which means that you first have to get him down on the ground and then hit it with your hammer. The trick here is to get on its side, select the Shiny Boots and then the Shiny Hammer, and let your move do the rest. This attack will first slam the boss from the air and bring it to the ground. The hammer will do the rest and take away the boss’ HP. After your turn, the boss will Wing Ding you, which you can block, and the whole process will restart.
As the battle progresses, the boss will have more and more Water Sprouts to clear out the rings. However, the build-up of the second phase is where the boss will absorb more and more water and get bigger. This is the special attack where the boss will release all the water in a huge wave. You should counter this by using the Magic Button to summon Earth Vellumental to raise a platform where you are standing and keep you high and safe from the water.
Following this attack, Water Vellumental will be quite tired, giving you a freebie of attack without any attack of its own. The boss will regain its strength and be in flight again, with additional water sprouts to add to the difficulty. But the process of the battle is the same from here, and you just have to get close to the boss, select the Boots and the Hammer and defeat the boss completely.
