Paper Mario: The Origami King Gooper Blooper Boss Guide –  How to Defeat

Paper Mario: The Origami King Gooper Blooper Boss Guide

This Paper Mario: The Origami King Gooper Blooper Boss Guide will show you how to defeat the Gooper Blooper boss in the game. This is a different boss fight as opposed to the other main bosses in the game, where you will not have to navigate through rings to get close to the boss.

The Gooper Blooper is a giant Kraken-type squid that attacks you on the bow of the ship with its long arms. The fight happens in two phases but works in the same way with you avoiding the boss’ attacks and finding an opening.

At the beginning of the boss fight, the Gooper Blooper will use its arms from both side of the ship to slam on the deck. Each arm will then produce a shockwave that expands outwards. You have to completely avoid the shockwaves by jumping over them.

Your own strategy in this first phase of the boss battle is to jump over the shockwave and get close to the arm to hit it. This will destroy the arm and leave a bunch of Coins for you to collect. Repeat this process for the rest of the arms that come slamming on the deck. Gooper Blooper will occasionally spit black ink on the deck to hinder your progress.

When all the arms are destroyed, the boss will jump on the deck and get close to you. This also marks the beginning of the second phase and the trickier stage in the boss battle. In this phase, the Gooper Blooper will again use its short arms to slam the ground, create shockwaves, and spit black ink. All of these attacks need to be avoided and you have to wait for its heavy attack.

The heavy attack is indicated by the boss starting to flash and then spin around to send slow but big waves outwards. When the attack is complete, the boss will get dizzy and will be immobile for a few seconds. You need to avoid the waves by jumping to the side of the waves, and then hurry towards the boss to give it a good juicy blow.

Continue this process until the boss is visibly damaged over time. Typically, it takes 4 such hits to completely defeat the boss. The whole battle hardly takes a few minutes and can be finished within 5 mins.
