This Palworld Fishing Guide details everything that you should know about fishing in the game. From unlocking the fishing rod to catching fish and all the rewards that you can get, this guide covers everything. Fishing is one of those simple activities in the game that can help you capture Pals or get valuable and useful items that you can get money for by selling them.
How Fishing Works in Palworld 1.0
You need to unlock the Beginner Fishing Set before you can start fishing, and to unlock the set you must reach Level 15 first.
Once you reach the level and the set becomes available, you can craft the Fishing Rod by gathering the required materials. After unlocking a higher-quality workbench, you can also make Simple Bait, which requires Aquatic Pal Fluids, Red Berries, and Flour.
These materials are not difficult to obtain. Flour is produced at the mill after processing Wheat harvested from the same plantations, and you can grow red berries on your plantations. You can equip the Fishing rod in one of your weapon slots once it is crafted. Your bait must remain in your inventory before you start fishing but does not need to be equipped separately.
When it comes to finding fishing spots, look for fish that are swimming in the water. Some of the fish will appear normal and basic, while others will have a glowing effect. The ones that are glowing are the ones you should target, as they are of higher quality.
How to Catch a Fish in Palworld 1.0
To catch a fish, use your Fishing rod to aim at the fish, and you will see a cast option appear on the screen. You will also see a display of the controls for your platform. After you have cast your line, wait for the fish to bite and press the same button again to reel it in. During the fishing mini-game, you will need to control the green marker and keep it aligned with the yellow bar. Holding the button moves the marker to the right, while releasing it lets the marker move back to the left. Continue adjusting it until the progress indicator at the top fills.
If the green marker is not in line with the yellow bar for a long time, you will lose the opportunity to catch a fish as your progress meter will empty. You must keep the marker balanced throughout the minigame to progress. Fishing is not limited to just rivers or lakes. You can fish anywhere you find water, even if the locations are farther from the shore. Moreover, if you have a Pal that can swim, you can use it to travel on the water and fish while on its back.
