Indie developer and publisher Mad Cream Games has announced the release date of its upcoming title Painting Werther. Painting Werther is a paintable visual novel where all of the visuals are living paintings. Painting Werther is an adaptation of ‘The Sorrows of Young Werther’, a novel originally written in German by Goethe in 1774. The game offers over 3 hours of gameplay and contains more than 150 authors and 500 paintings.

The trailer above gives you a glimpse of what you can expect from the game when it comes out next week. In Painting Werther, you will be bringing color to a colorless world with your paintbrush as you paint like the greatest masters of old. Painting Werther allows you to experience this romantic story in a brand-new way. The game delivers an artistic experience filled with brush strokes and ink spots. It certainly appears like a unique experience and something that we have never played before as well. It combines visual novels with gameplay as you will be using your pain brush to pain in different paintings.

Painting Werther Release Date

A Steam page for Painting Werther is now live and you can add the game to your wishlist before its full release on February 14, 2023. You can also download and try out a free demo of the game on Steam which allows you to experience a small chunk of the game ahead of its release. Apart from Steam, Painting Werther will also release on Humble Bundle and Itch.io. You can add the game to your wishlist on these platforms as well.
