Ancestral Light

You will find this ability in a small area on your way to The Burrows in the Inkwater Marsh. This is the same place where you solve the Musical Flower puzzle. To actually unlock this ability, you must play the puzzle backward. With this ability, your attacks will deal 25% additional damage.

Bash

You will unlock this ability soon after you defeat the Horn Beetle. You can only interact with flowers, vines, and lanterns with the Bash ability so this is an important ability if you want to find all secrets in the game.

Blaze

You can purchase this ability from Opher in Wellspring Glades. With this ability, you can burn the enemies with fire around you.

Burrow

Burrow is learned in Windswept Wastes. There is a large area in the middle of Windswept Wastes where you can learn this ability. This ability allows you to move through sand and reach previously inaccessible areas.

Dash

Dash is unlocked in Kwolok’s Hollow. While heading towards the Guardian of the Marsh, look for a small area. You will find it easily.

Double Jump

Double Jump is required for progressing in the main story and also accessing different hidden locations in the game. You get to learn this ability pretty early in the game while you are still in Inkwater Marsh. Head to the left side of the map while you are progressing towards the Guardian of the Marsh.

Flash

This ability is most helpful in Mouldwood Depths as it will allow you to create an aura of light to see what is around you. You will also learn this ability in Mouldwood Depths.

Glide

This is one of the earliest abilities that you can obtain in the game. During the Prologue in Swallows Nest, you will get this when you have to search the chest for the feather after opening the door to the tree-house.

Grapple

Grapple will allow you to latch onto hooks and moss allowing you to reach areas that are not accessible otherwise. You will find this ability in an area on the left side of The Wellspring.

Launch

Probably the last ability that you learn in Ori and the Will of Wisps is Launch. With this super-useful ability, you can launch yourself in any ability that you want. Near the end of the game, you will learn this ability in Silent Woods.

Light Burst

Light Burst is another attack that allows you to throw a powerful explosive bomb that can damage enemies and melt frozen items in the game. You can learn this ability in the big area on the rightmost side of Baur’s Reach.

Sentry

You can purchase this ability from Opher in Wellspring Glades. With this ability equipped, you can spawn a Spirit Orb that attacks your enemies and supports you in battle.

Spike

You can purchase this ability from Opher in Wellspring Glades. With this ability equipped, you can throw a spear of light at enemies to damage them.

Spirit Arc

After you have drained the poisonous water in Inkwater Marsh, make your way to a closed-off area where you will get to learn this ranged attack.

Spirit Edge

Spirit Edge allows you to fight and will serve as your primary attacking ability in the game. This ability is story linked and you will unlock it automatically when you reach a certain point in the story.

Spirit Smash

You can purchase this ability from Opher in Wellspring Glades. With this ability, you can land a powerful attack on your enemies.

Spirit Star

You can purchase this ability from Opher in Wellspring Glades. With this ability, you can throw a star that loops back to you.

Swim Dash

Swim Dash is essentially a dash inside the water which allows for a powerful launch upon you exiting the water. You can learn this ability in the big central area in Luma Pools.

Water Breath

This is yet another very useful ability to purchase in the game. You can purchase this ability from Opher in Wellspring Glades. With this ability, you can breathe underwater easily.

  1. You also get a second Ancestral Light by finishing the side quest for the monkey Kii in Silent Woods. He’ll want you to bring a dead branch from his ancestral tree to someone who knows plants. When you come back to him second time around saying that you can’t help his dead tree, he gives you the last seed which you will then have to give to the little beaver who you go to to plant seeds, and he’ll plant a new Ancestral Tree in the Wellspring Glades, near the Spirit Well. Using that Ancestral Tree will grant you the Ancestral Light.
