In this Onimusha Warlords File Locations Guide, we will guide you on the locations of all the files that are found in Onimusha Warlords. There are 32 different files scattered throughout the files and some of these files are important as they will help you find answers to open four different decoder boxes in the game as well.

We have detailed the location of all 32 files that are present in the game. Upon collecting all files, you will also earn the achievement of ‘Walking Encyclopedia’. You will require certain tools to open up the different locked doors and blocked areas however we have detailed them below as well.

File Locations Guide – Onimusha Warlords

Our Onimusha Warlors File Locations Guide will show you the locations of all the files in the game so that you easily find them.

Yuki’s Letter

Story related. You will automatically get it when you control Samanosuke for the first time in the main story. You cannot miss this.

Sougen’s Note

This is found in the cave which leads to the Underground Temple. Climb the stairs in the cave and you will reach a dead end. A shrine is located here which has the file. Accept to get the file from the shrine.

Journal #1

This is located in the Underground Temple. Keep following the main path until you reach the shrine which has the blue gem. Look at the walls and you will see some vases. Break the third vase on the left wall to reveal a chest and open it to get the file.

Journal #2

After defeating Osric, look for the treasure chest in the next room to find the journal.

Journal #3

Once the cutscene with Tokichiro ends, look for the treasure chest on the floor. There is a door next to this chest. Enter the door and keep following the path until your arrive in a room which has weapons and armor. Check the corner of this room for the Journal.

Journal #4

Once you done with disarming all traps in the keep, drop down the stairs and split up with Kaede. Continue on the path by first heading up the stairs and then in the next hall. You will come to a ladder on which you will stop in the middle eventually with an error. After it tells you cannot go any further, interact with it again and go further down.

You will arrive in a small room where you will find a treasure chest. This is on the left side of the room. If you look next to the chest on the wall, you will find a scroll. Attack it to cut it and it will show you a locked compartment which has the journal. Pick it up.

Journal #5, Suzuka Vol 4

Open the door using the Shinobi Kit in the West Area near Magic Mirror and follow the path. At the end, use the wooden door on the left and enter the room. At the back, you will come to a treasure chest. Open it and the retrieve the journal. Now head to the back of the room to find a red book. Pick it up as well.

Journal #6, Genbu Vol 3

This can be achieved after opening the decorated sword to get access to the East Area. Continue along the path and cross the bridge by opening up the green plasma locks. Enter the room and make your way left. When you reach the end of the hallway, look for a scroll on the wall. This is the journal that you are looking for.

Now enter through the door and keep heading to the other end where you will find another door. Enter the door and you will come into a small room. Here, check the shelf on the east side of the wall where you will find a green book. Pick it up.

Blue Book

This can be found inside the abandoned keep. Right aftering entering, you will come to a doorway on the left side. Enter this doorway to reach a door locked with blue plasma. You can only get access to this door with a level 2 Shiden equipped. Open the door and kill the ninja genma.

After killing the enemies, make your way to the door located on the north side. Enter and you will arrive in a room which has three jewels and a blue book on some boxes. Head to the blue book and pick it up.

Red Book

You can collect the red book after watching the cutscene with Kaede and Yumamaru inside the abandoned keep. Make your way to the door at the end of the corridor and enter the room. Inside, climb the stairs and reach the top. Enter the door with the red plasma with the help of level 2 Kouen. Inside, pick up the book from the table.

Green Book, Orange Book & White Book (Byakko Vol 3)

In the underground keep, keep playing until you enter the room which has the Magic Mirror. Destroy the tentacles and head forward to defeat the Reynaldo. After the fight, check the bookshelves and you will find all three books sitting on the shelf. Pick them up. The white book is the Byakko Vol 3.

Apocalypse #1, Suzuka Vol 1, Byakko Vol 4

This is located in the Keep Underground. When you open the door using Purifier Bell, head inside and you will come to a door which has green plasma and 2 locks. Open this door and make your way to the end of the room. Check on the left side of Samasosuke and you will find a green, white and red book lying on the floor. Pick them up.

Apocalypse #2

While playing as Kaede, cross the bridge, open the door using the Shinobi Kit and follow the path on the right to reach a room. You will find some vases inside. Break them to get access to a smaller area in the back where you will find a purple book sitting on a shelf. Grab it.

Seiryu Vol 1

In the Underground Temple, head past the shrine and then make your way right to reach the dead end of the hallway where you will find a nook in the wall. Here start opening the doors and pick up the book when you find it.

Seiryu Vol 2

In the Abandoned Keep, after opening the door using the two Crest Pieces, you will gain control of Samanosuke. You will notice that one of the walls here is destroyed. Make your way through it and you will notice a blue book sitting on a stool located at the right. This is right before the camera changes angle.

Seiryu Vol 3, 4

This can be obtained after the same scenario as the previous one, when you gain control of Samanosuke and go ahead the blasted wall, keep heading for the next room. Kill the attacking Genma and follow the path ahead. Keep going up the stairs to reach the top. Enter the door at the top and you will arrive in a room where you will find two blue books sitting on the floor. Grab them both.

Suzuka Vol 2

Watch the cutscene with Kaede and Yumamaru in the abandoned keep and go through the door at the end of the corridor. Inside, you will come across some stairs. Use the door under the stairs and enter the next room. Inside you will come across a bookshelf with a red book. Pick it up.

Suzuka Vol 3

You can collect this file after getting to the second magic mirror while playing as Kaede. This is in the East Area. Head to the second room and follow the path until you come to two doors. One of the doors is right ahead of you while the other door is on the opposite side. Enter the door on the opposite side and pick up the red book from the shelf on the right.

Byakko Vol 1

You will need to do some homework in order to get this file. Start by opening the door using the Shinobi Kit near the Magic Mirror in the West Area if you have not done that already. Head down the corridor and you will eventually find a wooden door. Enter and make your way to the back of the room where you will find a wooden cabinet.

Interact with the cabinet’s drawers and you will find get some gears. Pick them up and make your way past the Bamboo Forest. Use the gear here and pull the string and enter the room. Inside you will come to a treasure chest. Look on the rights side of this treasure chest to find a white book. Pick it up.

Byakko Vol 2

Make your way to the abandoned keep. Once there, keep following the main path and eventually you will arrive at the balcony which is at the top of entrance room of the abandoned keep. Use the blocked door to gain access to the next room with your Kouen. Kill the enemies inside and enter the next room.

You can destroy the big box in the middle to reveal a chest which has some arrows otherwise carry on. Go up the stairs and look for a treasure chest on the floor on the right side. There is a white book here sitting on a shelf. Pick it up.

Genbu Vol 1

While playing as Samanosuke, go to the West Area and head to the Red Door which was earlier unlocked with Kaede. Follow the main path until you come to a door with blue plasma and three locks. Use level 3 shiden to open it and enter the house. Look on the right side and you will find a green book sitting on a shelf. Pick it up.

Genbu Vol 2

In the West Area, you will open a specific door with Silver and Gold plates. Once it is open, head inside to reach the burning building and the corridor inside. You will eventually arrive in a room which has some vases. Destroy the vases and pick up the green book from the shelf near the treasure chest.

Genbu Vol 4

You can collect this file when you get to the second magic mirror as Kaede in East Area. You will see that there is a ladder in the same room. Use it to access the attic where you will find some boxes lying on the floor. Here you will find a piece of Fluorite and a green book. Pick both of them up.

After collecting the entire collection of 32 files, you will get the trophy/achievement Walking Encyclopedia.
