How to Unlock the Secret Cow Level in Minecraft Dungeons
Unlocking the Secret Cow Level in Minecraft Dungeons is a pretty lengthy process and it is extremely well-hidden in the game as well. It is hidden so well that if you do not want to specifically find and unlock this level, you might miss it entirely. So since you are reading this guide, it means that you are serious about finding and playing the hidden Secret Cow Level and hence have completed the first requirement for finding the hidden level.
Before you start hunting for this level, you must have completed the main story of the game as well. Once you have completed the campaign, head over to your camp, and start walking south-east. Keep going until you come towards some springs. Use these springs to get to the other side of the area which is normally out of your reach. Once on the other side, keep following the path until you reach an incomplete Nether Portal. Now go to the south-west and look for a small, hidden path in the trees right next to three steps. You can use this path to get to the drawbridge and lower it to open up a path to your camp.
Once you have lowered the bridge, you will have a much easier path towards the portal and your camp. Now for the next step, to unlock the secret level, you must find nine hidden runes. You can keep a track of your ruins in the fort. There is a button at the back which highlights different letters and as you continue to unlock more and more runes, more letters will be shown to you. These runes are found in different levels after you have beaten the main story of Minecraft Dungeons at least once.
Rune Locations
Your next target is to play the different levels again and find the hidden runes in them. You have to find the rune door and open it up. Head inside and find the hidden rune. Once you have collected a rune, you can simply quit the level and begin hunting for the next one instantly. You do not have to complete a full level to actually keep it with you at the end. Below, we have detailed the locations of all the runes found on different levels.
Cacti Canyon
Inside the chamber where you find the Blue Key. Look for a hidden button in the bushes on the left side right before the chamber to open a door inside the chamber.
Creeper Woods
When you reach the point where you must rescue some trapped villagers, go south-west and you will find some stones. Look to its right to find a small cluster of cobblestones where the button is hiding. Press the button to open the hidden door in the stones.
Desert Temple
In the room where you find the gold key, look for a hidden button right behind a palm tree. Use this button to access the hidden door.
Fiery Forge
Keep playing the level until you come to the area where the remains of the Redstone Golem are present. Make your way left and you will find a hidden button. Use this button to open the locked door up ahead.
Highblock Halls
Keep playing until you arrive in the market where it starts to rain. Stick to the right side wall and keep going until you find a switch on the wall under two red windows. Use this switch to get access to the hidden chamber.
Obsidian Pinnacle
Make your way towards the library which is located around the middle of the level and check the shelf all the way at the back of the room. Here, you can find and pull a book as a switch which will open a secret door for you.
Pumpkin Pastures
In the middle of the level, there is a large stone wall that can be climbed to the top. Go to the right side after you’ve reached its top and you will find some boxes hiding a switch. Use the switch to open a hidden door up ahead in the wall.
Redstone Mines
After you have rescued the workers in the second area, look for a switch located near the Redstone deposit and the wall. It is right next to the small entrance on the other side of the wall where a lamp is hanging on the wall.
Soggy Swamp
While heading towards the end of the level after destroying the cauldron, you will find a large stone column in the middle of the area. There is a button hiding at its base in some mushrooms. Use this button to open a secret door and access the rune inside it.
Accessing the Secret Cow Level
These are all the nine runes that are required for unlocking the secret cow level in Minecraft Dungeons. Once you have acquired all nine runes, head back to the fort and deposit them by interacting with the button at the back. This will open a door for you which gives you a map and two chests. The map is your main requirement for the hidden level. Now you can enter the secret cow level and come face to face with Mooshrooms. You will find plenty of chests here and a lot of Mooshrooms. Make sure you maintain a decent distance while fighting them. The final boss of the area is Mooshroom Monstrosity and is a tough boss to defeat. Defeat the boss and you will clear a really cool Easter Egg level in Minecraft Dungeons.
