How to Visit Landmarks in Microsoft Flight Simulator
The best way to visit a landmark is to first decide what you are looking for. Whether you want to visit the Sydney Opera House in Australia or any other famous landmark, you need to go to the nearest airport from the location.
The reason why you should fly from an airport to the landmark is that it gives you the best opportunity to view the landmark. Although you can directly set in the coordinates for the landmark and spawn over it, this gives you a few seconds to see the landmark as you fly directly over it. If you are visiting a popular landmark, you can usually find it from the search menu. This will allow you to set the landmark as the flight destination.
Now if you can’t find a landmark of your choice in the search, you can always find it on Google Maps, copy the coordinates and input them as the flight destination.
Once your departure location or airport and the landmark destination is set, set out in the Free Flight mode and follow the path to the landmark. If for some reason you can’t get your bearings right, you can always open up the NAVLOG menu which will show you what heading you need to follow to get to the destination.
